easy to fit.remove cover from old speakers by gently levering ,they can be removed without damage.the three holes on speakers are on slightly different centres to door mount. I cut clips supplied in half to make rectangular washers .with these i clamped the speakers using the 3 original mountings in door.it took longer to think about it than do itquality is great

As previously mentioned in other reviews these speakers are not the correct size for the MX5. I had to use washers behind the screws in order to fit them. Considering the number of speakers MX5parts must sell i think it is dissapointing they dont stock a direct replacement. On a positive note the speakers themselves sound great and are far superior to the standard items.

Got these fitted in about half hour. The JVC instructions were, frankly, p!ss poor. I think that there should be a seperate part of this site with all the products featured where we could write our own downloadable fitting instructions! As far as speaker performance goes, they are faultless.

As previously mentioned had to do a little bit of flattening around two of the holes and use a washer but apart from that very easy install and sound is pretty good (I have put absorbtion mat stuck to the door and around the hole). The water covers were missing so I used two old plastic Christmas pudding basins (large pudding), cut down to make shorter width, hole for speaker wires and siliconed into place. Works a treat.

Brilliant Speakers, tons of bang for a few quid. Rapid delivery as usual, thanks guys! A doddle to fit, dont see what the fuss is all about, spent longer looking for electrical tape in the mayhem of my garage than actually fitting them! Just tilt the speakers so the single end of the Y points towards the front, and use 3 of the clips provided on each side, they sort of suspend the speaker in the hole. Read a few reviews before fitting and you'll get the gist of it.....

Cracking speakers for the money, and no problem fitting. For fitting, this is the easiest way, remove the old speakers, take a razor blade or knife and seperate the plastic cover from the old speaker slowly working round the edge. When you have removed it,put the new speaker into the cover, and rotate the speaker till the holes of the cover line up with the ones of the speaker. You will find on the speaker there are little spikes on the circumference, where these line up you will need to put little notches in the plastic cover and the speaker will now sit perfectly flush. The speaker is slightly smaller than the old one,so get some small washers for the 3 screws,so that it retains the speaker as the screws wont other wise.if you want a perfect seal, and no vibrations or distortion, run a thin bead of silicone round the plastic cover before installing.I will guarantee you will be impressed if you do this, with my hardtop on the sound in the car is amazing great bass, very clear with nice mid range and treble,Cant see them handling 210 watt,as i'm using without an amp with a 200 watt stereo, and there at the limit.great buy highly recommend,Tim

Really pleased with these. The biggest problem is getting the shrouds off the old speakers which were glued in place and needed to be prised off with a screwdriver, and placed on the new ones. Once done however, it was a pretty simple task of installing them, turning them 90 degrees etc. and using the lugs that came with the speakers. A 100% improvement over the old ones where the cones were just disintegrating.Great sound as well.
