Not impressed with the sound of these, first off I had to drill 2 holes in my door as they don't line up with existing holes. There is very little bass, what little there is distorts into a horrid mess once I crank the volume on my stereo above '12', I usually have it around '16' to hear it properly when cruising. Music sound completely lack-luster and I will be replacing them very soon with something else as they are the worst sounding speakers I have ever heard. I ran all new cabling when I fitted these with audiophile quality (720 strand wire) to get the best possible sound. Worst audio purchase I have ever made, period. Save your money and buy something else. BTW, I also purchased the JVC headrest speakers at the same time and they sound a lot better than these do!

Speedy delivery as always! The speakers are great quality at a bargain price- the holes don't line up but its no big deal to create new ones

Took all of 15 minutes to install. Drill a couple of holes and there you go. These are brilliant sounding and a great price. My old speakers had literally fallen apart!!

They don't really fit properly, and so are awkward to install. The price is good and the speakers are of good quality and good sound.

Despite reading the hints in other reviews I still couldn't get more than two screw holes to line-up, but they seem tight and secure once fitted. When coupled with a reasonable head unit (a fairly cheap Pioneer, much better than the JVC unit it replaced) and a dynamat speaker kit around the door skins it has really transformed the sound quality from thin and tinny to very thumpy and clear. It's still a tad harsh in the upper-mids but that's more the thin doors and small cabin I would think. Possibly the best £26 you'll spend on the interior!

Many years ago I decided to enter sound off competitions so built a top system into my Saab 900 - so I can say with some authority that these are nothing short of amazing for the money. My Mk1 MX5 had worn/torn door and headrest speakers. From an audiophile point of view you really only want two good (left and right) speakers, so I decided that the headrest speakers were going to be removed and never replaced (I was re-covering the seats any way). I put a pair of these speakers in the doors with a JVC CD head unit with decent RMS wattage and you really don't need anything more than that to get a good sound. You'll get clarity, volume and surprisingly superb bass these speakers. Keeping or replacing the headrest speakers would only add intereference making the sound out of phase so I suggest you just disconnect them. JVC speaker are always quality but these are a terrific bargain.

I bought these to replace the old and tired original speakers. They are a brilliant replacement. Crisper sounds, and better base. Some drilling is required to fit them as the original holes do not line up. 30 minute job, and then they are all fitted.
