IL Motorsport Front Chassis Brace BarThis chassis brace was designed by a NASCAR chassis engineer for maximum rigidity. Each brace can be fitted in minutes and uses existing mounting holes. Even better, as you do not have to disturb any suspension mountings, there is no need to have wheel alignment carried out after fitting. These braces are now made for us in Europe allowing us to both reduce the price and monitor quality control thereby bringing you a better product at a better price!Fits Mk1, Mk2 & 2.5 models, 1989>2005Please Note: This will NOT fit Mk2 & 2.5 6 speed models unless you remove the rear gearbox under tray.Fitting Instructions

Excellent service as usual - Fast delivery – Fitted in ten minutes, well worth the money and an easy upgrade to stability.

Fitted one of these to my early Mk.1 some time ago and it transformed the car. Just fitted one to my late Mk 1 which already had a factory brace and there was still a marked improvement. Not only does the car feel stiffer but there is a much smoother ride over the pot-holes now.If you only ever buy one thing from MX5 Parts make it this. The best £33 you can spend !!

Perfect fit - Awkward bit was getting socket to fit into tight space, but 3/8 drive did the trick. Had to remove flimsy metal undertray, but by the rust on it I think was going to fall off soon anyway.Superfast delivery as usual.

Didn\'t fit my standard UK Mk2 without removing a large tray that sits underneath the gearbox so sent it back. It would be helpful if the website informed customers which models this product is compatible with.Editors Note: Thank you for your comments. Mk2 6 speed models have an additional under tray at the rear of the gearbox which would appear to be the reason you have had problems. As we have sold a large number of these braces over the years and never had any comments about them not fitting before, we were unaware this was the case. We have now updated the product description to reflect this.

Simple to fit. Slide the washer in the bottom gap, wrap a piece of cotton thread around the bolt and lower it in, guide to the hole with a small screwdriver. 15 Minutes work once up on the ramps. big benefits.

I just fitted my front and rear chassis brace today. I read a fair fiew of the comments about struggling to fit the braces....eeerrrrrr..i could see it being a little tricky if your tools were made from playdough! It takes less than 5mins to fit the rear brace, and about 10 mins to fit the front (and that includes stopping to stroak ur neighbours dog). though i do have a kinki little magnet that sucked the bolt right out my finger tips and through the hole! If u have the right modern day tools you wont struggle one bit! As for the improvement...its instantly much much more responsive through corners. also noticed the ride over potholes mas alot quieter with less 'chatter' from the front shocks.A definate must have if you have a mk1!!

I cant talk about the fitting of it as our mechanic did it whilst sorting MOT. but this was fitted along with rear chasis brace on a 1.8is (1995). Mechanic said front went on ok but had to tinker with rear. The car already had a 2 braces on it but now is much stiffer. The car is now cornering so much flatter and alot more confident in the corners. Just saving up for the bushes!!
