This is not a cheap upgrade but in my opinion it is worth it. I didn't bother with the 12 v plug and covered the hole with some self adhesive felt which I also used on the bottom to stop things sliding around. I got the tan one which is close enough to the stock and it doesn't look out of place. We all know that you cannot close the lid if you put a phone or sunglasses case in the standard cup holder tray but with this you can fit more things in and hid them with the lid.

Decided to fit this to my recently purchased Mk3 on finding even my sunglasses would not fit in the original cup holder space. It took a couple of hours to fit, helped to some extent by my language teacher wife (who translated the German instructions). I purchased a set of pry tools from Halfords (https://www.halfords.com/tools/fuses-electricals-and-fixings/fixings/halfords-assorted-pry-bar-set-333161.html) and could not have done it without these. Some of the process was challenging to say the least (especially the wiring and fitting the socket) but worth it in the end. Persevere and you'll have a brilliantly useful storage space in a car that needs one.

Great product, easy to fit once you understand the insturctions, didnt fot the 12v port just blanked it off, but otherwise simple and effect way to rid those useless cup holders

In addition to my previous review I now have a lid that easily slides back and forward as the magnets have come loose and have disappeared some where . Considering that the cost of unit and postage is £80 plus it's a shame the manufacturer can't fix the magnets with a suitable adhesive...can I have two new magnets so I can glue them in with a reliable adhesive please.

Instruction sheet was a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy so was of little use product was solid enough and fitted ok I elected to not to fit the power point but glued the plastic surround and plug into the aperture where the power point should have been...there's a u shape cut out in the drivers side of the unit which baffled me as to what it's for perhaps someone has an answer..and don't be surprised if you find you have a couple of screws left over after installation.

Understand that the latch is magnetic. My cover cannot stay in the “latched” position. Guess the magnet fell off. Now my lid keep on sliding to the open position. Rather disappointed.

I really like this replacement for the two cup holders. I found it easy to fit and the finish is very close to the original.I followed the straightforward English instructions and all went to plan. Getting the window switch plug off required a bit of fiddling but I found putting a mirror underneath made it a lot easier.Connecting up the 12v socket with the Scotchloks was easy and the connectors for the new socket seemed fine on mine.I did read a previous review about the magnets and added superglue to both just to make sure they stay put. Took about 45mins to fit.
