“A damn site handier than two cup holders thats for sure. Needed a bit of moulding sprue removing to get a good fit by the window switches, but overall went in ok. Instructions were ok....after I'd printed out the illustrations a lot larger. Matched fairly well after coating with a bit of polish like the rest of the trim - which also made the lid slide nicely. Not cheap but that cup holder was driving me mad with it's uselessness!”

“I love this tray. Its exponentially more useful then the stock cup holder which is pointless since there are cup holders on the door. This kit was easy to install the probably was removing the plastic components install in the car. After everything was removed, installing the tray was simple. Due to taking my time trying not to damage my plastic tabs and things it took about 1.5 hours. The 12VDC was easy to put in too, just have to tap into the existing 12VDC supply then run the wires. Simple. Electrical parts all inside the kit. Holds my cell, coins, lip balm, gloves, etc.. This tray is a must.”

“Great idea, quite well made, match with original not bad at all, however, unlike other owners reports it took me longer than an hour to fix, nearer 3 hours. Space now useable, and extra socked ideal...Come on MAZDA you should have had this from the start. Finally, thanks MX5 Parts for prompt delivery, and good packageing.”

“I purchased the Storage tray and the armrest, Service from MX5 parts was excellent, next day delivery. My only gripe is the combined cost of these two items £120 excluding potsage costs.The installation was straightforward, the instructions were in English including the diagrams, although tiny. fitting the 12v power outlet was simple as well. The photograph of the armrest on this site, is exactly the way they appear in the car. I purchased the armrest purely for comfort, as having driven from Scotland to England recently I missed having a soft armrest.”

“Purchased one very recently, and already the black coating is chipping and showing the white base material through. I have not yet contacted MX5 parts, so hope they will replace as there have been know problem from the manufacturer of these units at an earlier date.”

“I have just fitted the modified storage tray to the center console of my MK3 .Its without a doubt the best thing i have done for a very long time and has sloved my cabin storage problem imediatly. Why didnt Mazda buid it this way ?It took about 1hour 15 minutes to fit.The quality of the various parts are excellent and the fit superb.The fact the inctructions are in German did not cause a problem as the drawings explained exactly what needed to be done .Wiring in the electic socket was a dodle.I can now store two pairs of glases in their cases and two mobile phones with ease . Plus keys etc.Thanks MX-5 Parts for making this kit available .I thoughly recomend it”

“A good solution to the cup holder storage space although it seems very expensive for what it is and lacks the original quality. The instructions are in German which wasn't very helpful for me so had to rely on the few diagrams. The plastic is poor quality with some moulding imperfections and not a perfect colour match with the rest of the surrounding plastic although only noticable if your looking for it. The sliding action of the door feels cheap and if you drive with the lid open it will side shut on its own when braking. When shut the magnets do hold it secure but there is some side to side play but not much and the ribbed texture does match pretty well. The wiring crimps were not secure and parted from the wires and there was no joining connectors to splice into the original socket power supply. Not the best product from IL Motorsport but it is better than the DIY solutions I have seen.”
