“As usual when dealing with mx5 parts, ordering, tracking and delivery all went to plan. I changed all the parts this afternoon, added some gear oil to the shift (was completely dry) and car is now a joy to drive again.The original parts were both split after 17 years and 98k miles.”

“Ordered this part on Sunday,arrived Tuesday morning can't beat that for service. Took me less than 30 minutes to fit, noticed the difference straight away. To fit the Lower boot I sprayed a little bit of WD40 & it slid over the gear stick with ease. Thanks again for a excellent service.”

“Had to wait for this kit to come in stock but well worth the wait! Centre console is easy to remove, remember on the Mk2 there is a retaining screw under the electric window switches. Carefully place a small flat headed screwdriver blade at the back of the switches and lever up, I used a small piece if sponge to lever against and prevent damage to the console. After reading reviews on fitting the new boots, in particular the lower one,I was really surprised how easily it slipped on the gear stick with a little bit if grease applied to both. Most fiddly bit is refitting the gear lever into the turret as the nylon bush needs to fit square into the turret at the same time as making sure the ball slots are aligned with the pegs on the housing, having said that it should only take a couple of minutes. I really took my time and completed the task in about 1hr 45 mins, if I had to do it again it would take approx 45 mins. Immediately the gear shift was improved dramatically, much better than I had hoped for! For the time/cost involved and instant improvement gained this has got to be one of the best tasks you can easily perform. Just take your time and savour the improved driving pleasure. I used the planetmx5 link provided by earlier reviewers, easy to follow.”
