About Mooncup:

Mooncup began with a clear goal: to give people a healthier, sustainable way to manage their periods.

Back in 2002, we launched the world’s first medical-grade silicone menstrual cup, pioneering a movement that put health and the planet first. We saw an industry where profit came before people, ingredients were hidden, and plastics reigned, so we challenged the status quo.

Now, we're on a mission to become the world’s biggest sustainable period care brand. We’ve just launched Mooncup period pads into Sainsbury’s, Boots, Holland & Barrett and Look Fantastic. We’re also partnering with workplaces, gyms and hotels (like Canva, Danone, Third Space, Gymshark and Claridge’s) to offer free period care in bathrooms.

We use only science-backed, body-safe ingredients because your period products should work with your body, not against it.

So, this is my first ever week of using a Mooncup. I am on day five and I am finding it a very positive and empowering experience. I must admit, that after watching one of the short films where another user had tracked their first week or so, I was feeling a bit apprehensive as she'd experienced a few teething problems. I didn't experience anywhere near as many of the issues she did and I have been incredibly and pleasantly surprised by how easy it's been for me so far. Most of the time I can forget about it even being there, which is fantastic! I would recommend this product to others as not only is it easy to use but it also helps the environment, which is wonderful and worthwhile on all levels.

I switched to using a mooncup from tampons because I found I was always leaking (especially overnight) and I was constantly worrying about ending up in a mess. From the very first month of using the mooncup (I've had two periods now since starting) I haven’t had a single leak. Amazing. It is quite “involved” and it’s not the most pleasant having to deal with emptying the cup in a public toilet using tissue or a bottle of water (definitely recommend taking water with you as that’s by far the best) but it still beats having to deal with embarrassing clean ups when tampons have failed. Most of the time I find a bathroom with a sink in the stall. I had to trim the “stalk” pretty short so I couldn’t feel it but once I got that right, honestly wouldn’t know I’m wearing it. Also love the fact I don’t have to carry bulky tampons everywhere. Would recommend to everyone and I’m never going back - thank you Mooncup!

Wish I’d have got this years ago!

It’s very good value and will pay for its self quickly. Trimming it to ‘fit’ takes a couple of attempts then wearing it is very comfortable n it never leaks. I would say removal is a little uncomfortable and if you work full time emptying and cleaning it in a shared toilet would be a massive hurdle

Hi Karen, thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review. Although great to hear your positive comments, we are sorry to hear that you're not completely comfortable removing the Mooncup menstrual cup. For the time being, we would therefore recommend taking a break from using your Mooncup®. With a view to helping make your experience using the Mooncup as comfortable as it should be, our Advice Team, made up of medical health professionals would be very happy to help explore this with you. They can be contacted directly at advice@moncup.co.uk. Using public toilets needn’t be so tricky; You may wish to check out our tips on emptying and cleaning the Mooncup in public places there. I hope this helps.
Excellent product, have been using mooncups for approx 16 years, don't understand why cups aren't more mainstream by now!

Good product design, fits well. Came packaged nicely with straight forward instructions. I switched to the moon up because of my consciousness of the environment. However, since a friend recommended this product to me, I've never looked back to tampons! I actually find it much simpler and less hassle using the moon cup.

Loved the idea of the mooncup and after talking to some friends who used similar cups I decided to give it a go. Went with the advised size for my age (36) and having had 2 kids (although both C sections). Struggled to get it in and REALLY struggled to get it out……oh my god, the pain was unreal. So much so that I was getting a bit panicked that I wouldn’t be able to remove it. Haven’t tried it again as it definitely wasn’t right for me or my poor bits!. Gutted as it was bl**dy expensive for one, very painful, try!! Back to tampons or period pants for me!

Hi Nicky, thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review. We’re sorry to hear that you’ve been experiencing these issues when using your Mooncup menstrual cup and can appreciate this being disappointing as well as uncomfortable! It sounds like you may have already, though in this situation we would recommend taking a break from using your Mooncup®. It may be helpful to know that our Advice team, made up of medical health professionals would be very happy to help explore why you may be experiencing these issues and from there can provide tailored advice and/or how best to help moving forward. They can be contacted directly at advice@moncup.co.uk should you wish to get in touch. I hope this helps.
So, it took me around 2 cycles to get the hang of it, but I had rarely used tampons before. I'd imagine it'd be much easier for women who use tampons. Anyway, I'm not going back to pads now. The Mooncup is just so much more convenient and discreet, plus due to my limited flow I can wear one for 12 hours before I need to empty it, while I used to change pads much more frequently. I am much freer in the way I move and sit, which I love and I no longer worry about staining clothes. The only downside is that I still experience some leaks during the first 2 days of my period, but a panty liner is enough to handle those. Other than that, I'm super happy with my Mooncup and with the customer service. I'd definitely recommend this company!
