The DX006 incorporates the internal tuning slide on an aluminium bodied high D. The ABS head tunes on a solid nickel slide, fixed in the aluminium body, resulting in a solid, bright tone, an exciting addition to the Dixon family of Whistles.

“An absolutely gorgeous whistle! Delivery was prompt (about 9 days - I live in California) and the item arrived in perfect condition. I'm a new whistler, so I can't speak as an expert on this instrument; however, it plays quite easily and sounds great. Now this is an upgrade from my Clarke Original, and I notice a fair amount more squeaking/buzzing when playing this whistle, but that is likely more on my part than the instrument itself: compared with the Clarke, the DX006 has larger fingerings which will take some adjustment for my small fingers to become accustomed to. C natural, as others have pointed out, sounds just as bright and clear as the other notes. The second octave is easy to reach and sustain, although B and C nat/# will require a bit more effort. After thoroughly warming up the whistle and playing a few songs, I tested it against a chromatic tuner and it is in near perfect tuning with each note being only a slight bit sharp. So only a minor adjustment of the tuning slide will be necessary to bring it into concert pitch. Overall, a quality instrument and excellent customer service!”

“Perfect service and delivery I purchased the DX006 whistle. I wasn’t sure exactly how I could track my purchase. I got a call from a kind person from McNeela Instruments. She assured me my purchase was on the way. It came within 2 weeks along with a phone call explaining about delivery. As a Canadian receiving a product from Ireland, I felt it was a long ways to order a product from and to expect great customer service. Both went very well!”

“Wondrous Whistle I love my new DX006 whistle! It has a warm lower register and a clear mid range and upper range. Intonation is excellent in all registers. The pitch and clarity of both C# and C natural is an important benefit of the DX006. Because of its pleasing tone quality and even dynamic profile the DX006 blends very well in groups. I ordered my whistle on a Wednesday and it arrived on the following Tuesday.”
