McNeela Instruments has the pleasure in introducing the re-designed and improved Soprano D Whistle with an aluminium body by Tony Dixon Manufacturing. Back by popular demand, this whistle marks the return of an old friend now renamed.
The DX006 incorporates the internal tuning slide on an aluminium bodied high D. The ABS head tunes on a solid nickel slide, fixed in the aluminium body, resulting in a solid, bright tone, an exciting addition to the Dixon family of Whistles.

“Wondrous Whistle I love my new DX006 whistle! It has a warm lower register and a clear mid range and upper range. Intonation is excellent in all registers. The pitch and clarity of both C# and C natural is an important benefit of the DX006. Because of its pleasing tone quality and even dynamic profile the DX006 blends very well in groups. I ordered my whistle on a Wednesday and it arrived on the following Tuesday.”

“The Dixon DX006 whistle in D has a beautiful, bright, clear tone and is also the loudest whistle I own. When I first received it I was dubious about the close hole spacing as I have large hands and banana like fingers. However, this proved not to be a problem once I got used to it. I would buy this product again.”

“I just received my new DX006 six days after ordering it in Colorado. I love it! It has a warm tone and a good scale. I am pleased that C natural plays easily and in tune. It has a fairly large bore and a relatively thick wall which helps give body to the low range. The tuning sleeve is very smooth.”

“Nice sounding. Easy to play. Slightly larger finger holes than my other whistles; however, since I have neuropathy in my hands the finger holes allow me to play more comfortably. Also, with only one lung I find that I can control the air flow better. For my situation, it was a nice find.”

“Worth the wait ! The delivery time was really long (due to the Covid situation ?) but I've received it after 2 weeks. I am a beginner but from what I see, the tone is really great and it perfectly matches the given description.”
