The DX006 incorporates the internal tuning slide on an aluminium bodied high D. The ABS head tunes on a solid nickel slide, fixed in the aluminium body, resulting in a solid, bright tone, an exciting addition to the Dixon family of Whistles.

“Great whistle! The whistle sounds great! (I expect nothing less from Tony Dixon after so many positive experiences.) I took one star off because I find the finish on the aluminum makes it slightly harder to hold than the plastic Dixon I've become used to. McNeela shipped the item very quickly, and with the sale price they were even cheaper than ordering from anywhere in North America (I'm in Canada).”

“Nice whistle for me - a beginner I’ve been making the transition from recorder to a penny whistle to play folk music and had outgrown a cheapie that was given to me. I wanted something tuneable. This seemed a good choice by reviews and my price range. It’s been great. Nice tone and easier to play than the other one in terms of breath. Came quickly with good communication. Very pleased with it.”

“It sounds gorgeous As a relative beginner, I thoroughly enjoy the first sounds out of this whistle. It’s got a mellow sound so I continued playing for a while. I found the low notes harder than my other whistle, a generation, but I think that’s just my technique. I’m very pleased with my purchase and very pleased with McNeela.”

“Game changing whistle. After only playing inexpensive whistles for years and then giving up playing for the last few years, the DX006 whistle is very noticeably better. Solid sounding throughout the two octaves and even into a couple of notes in the third. It is fast and responsive and has improved my playing in the few weeks that I have had it. Paraic is right "It's as clear as a bell." McNeelas service was excellent and Aaron in service was most helpful with my email questions. Next time I order though, I will get the priority mailing. 12 days to Toronto Canada by regular mail.”
