The DX006 incorporates the internal tuning slide on an aluminium bodied high D. The ABS head tunes on a solid nickel slide, fixed in the aluminium body, resulting in a solid, bright tone, an exciting addition to the Dixon family of Whistles.

“I have had this whistle for 24 hours and I am already in love with it. I started playing the whistle in March as a project to keep me occupied while locked up in my house for weeks. While I have progressed well, I was having so much trouble in the upper register on my Susato and it was driving me crazy trying to get any note above a G to sound anything other than awful. After 4 months of playing, I saw the video of this whistle here and decided to make the leap of ordering a better whistle from overseas. I got this in the mail and was immediately able to play out the full upper register so easily and it was beautiful. As a nice extra, the Susato thumbrest fits on this whistle perfectly. I know it’s a cheat, but the whistle is so much more stable in my hands for the more complicated fingering changes with the thumbrest. It seems like I’ve made more progress in 24 hours just getting my hands on a high quality whistle!!!!!!!”

“A work in progress. As a novice whistler, I am still struggling with producing a consistently even sound. Occasionally everything clicks, and the whistle sounds great but the low D and top of the high octave is sketchy. Hopefully, this is the fault of the player rather than the whistle.”

“This is my first instrument purchase from McNeela Instruments and my first Tony Dixon whistle, and I'm a relatively new whistle and Irish flute player. I'm super happy with this whistle--it's got a lovely bright and sweet sound, and immediately comfortable to hold and play. The low notes and high notes aren't difficult to attain and sound great. Since I'm so new, I can only imagine how much better this will sound when I *actually* know what I'm doing. ;-) I live in the US. The whistle was shipped here quickly and arrived in great shape. Thanks!”
