This refurbished Humax looked as good as new. I do like all the recording functions and the streaming apps. It is saving me £25 a month in broadband/TV package cost which I especially love!

I bought this to replace my old, but excellent HDR-FOX T2 because the hard drive in that is failing after almost 9 years of use. I had a PVR9200T for several years before that, which was also excellent for its time (and is still working). I have to say they've completely lost the plot with this model. The user interface design, speed of operation and general functionality are awful - so much so that I'm going to pop a new hard drive into my old HDR-FOX-T2, which was (and still is) excellent, and carry on using that for normal day-to-day use. I've asked Humax if there will be any future software updates to address the various issues. I've also asked if there is a new model coming that might have improvements, particularly with regard to the speed of operation. I've received replies that are full of waffle, but no actual useful information on either point. I have to say I'm astounded that a company that has made such excellent products in the past could throw away all of that good work and release something like this. If you could release an updated version of the HDR-FOX-T2, with the UI and speed of that model, but all of the streaming services etc. that are now available, I'd buy it today, but this, no thanks!

The recorder itself is of good quality and appearance. However the Freeview PLAY is very disappointing and I cannot recommend this.

I HAVE OWNED AND USED HUMAX MODELS FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 years AND I BOUGHT THIS RECORDER TO REPLACE THE HDR-FOX T2/08/ITB WHICH HAD STARTED TO PAUSE AND TURN OFF DURING RECORDINGS. UNFORTUNATELY, ALTHOUGH I HAVE NO PROBLEM OR COMPLAINTS ABOUT RECORDING USING THIS NEW MODEL, NONE OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE OLD MODEL, WHICH WERE IDEAL, ARE FEATURES ON THIS NEW MODEL. IT DOESN'T HAVE A DEDICATED KEY FOR SKIPPINGS ADVERTS. ALSO, FROM GOING FROM ONE DAY TO ANOTHER ON THE GUIDE IS NOT AS USER FRIENDLY AND IS IN MY OPINION UNNECESSARILY COMPLEX. THERE IS NO DEDICATED VIEWING INFORMATION KEY. WHEN USING THE PAUSE FUNCTION THE PAUSE INFORMATION REMAINS ON THE SCREEN SO IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO READ ANY WORDING ON THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN. INFORMATION ON FUTURE PROGRAMMES IS LIMITED TO ONE DAY (24 HRS) MY OLD MODEL ON AVERAGE GAVE ME 300/400 SAME DAY AND FUTURE DAY MOVIE OPTIONS.
