Freeview Play Recorder FVP-5000T 1TB (Refurbished) Reviews

I have been using Humax kit for several years - this model is a significant improvement on its predecessors, not the least because multiple tuners allow several different programmes to be acquired simultaneously.

Well featured and easy to use and navigate the programme(s) selections. However, the "loop through" aerial cuts out when in standby or off mode leaving the TV without a signal. After switching the unit on again the signal reappears for the TV. This never happened with my previous Humax Freesat & Freeview PVR's. Overall it works well and am reasonably happy with it.

Navigating program guide slow and cumbersome especially changing day and navigating between past programmes and future programmes. It is not explained in the manual which is itself poor. Changing channel is slow, up to 5 seconds!!! When you pause the display remains on the screen impeding viewing. You can't play current BBC programs from the start in iPlayer only watch live. Using the remote to navigate the various features and menus is cumbersome and not easy for the less techy users. The recording of up to 4 programmes at once and playback is excellent.

Arrived promptly, well packaged and in excellent condition. Easy to set up and seems a nice piece of kit. We have only been using the box for a few days so I cannot comment on reliability yet.
