“Purchased this to replace hdr-1100s which failed. Good picture and 3 tuners an advantage but find it "clunky" and slow compared to the 1100s. Also the watch from start and green button iplayer functions do not work, which it does on all my other devices and TV,s. Humax said it was a BBC issue?”
“Disappointed with the box. Having come from a Sky HD box (2TB) I find it exceptionally slow to do anything and the disk keeps spinning even in standby. I have called Humax support who couldn't offer any help on either menu speed or the disk always spinning. So overall disappointed although it looks nice and I can watch TV etc ... eventually!!! Sorry Humax.”
“Great purchase, looks and works as new. I occasionally see a spike across the TV screen, but zI can't say its the box? Maybe the signal?
The Company supplying the unit were first class, in manner, in attitude and their service was spot on! I can recommend them, and will have no hesitation to using them again.”
“Recorder replaced old Humax, all good apart from a few quirks. When I select a recording which has a series it puts the focus on the latest episode not the earliest. I will always want the earliest, so its irritating to have to keep reselecting. I find it a bit slow switiching to selected recording compared to five year old Humax.”
“Really good bit of kit the only shame is the first one they sent out wasn’t loaded with software so had to be sent back that said it’s still very good”
“I've purchased Humax PVRs before, so I had high hopes for this one. Alas, I was disappointed. The menus are slow and take several seconds to load, then sometimes refresh, so you end up selecting a different option to the one you selected. The PVR comes with Freeview Play, but the network connectivity is unreliable. Sometimes it just doesn't recognise the ethernet connection, even though it displays messages like 'Network connected'. Annoyingly, while this PVR has Wi-Fi built-in, it won't use that to connect to Freeview Play. I've gone back to plugging my laptop into the TV to play TV-OD services, like I was doing before!
There are other quirks as well which make it painful to use. The user interface for jumping forward and backwards whilst watching recordings is so poorly designed.”
