“The fact that this model will not allow RF loop-through unless Power Saving is disabled is irritating - but liveable-with.
What I'm finding truly INFURIATING about the machine I was sent, is that 75% of the time it will not boot-up when switched on. So I have to disconnect the power, wait, and then reconnect the power. And of course, whenever I have to do this, the Recording Schedule gets wiped out. I've seen this machine described as a 'like-for-like FOX2 replacement' - but in my experience it is FAR INFERIOR. Very disappointing.”
“The PVR works brilliantly. We are technophobes, but found the installation process fairly easy to do and using it is also a breeze. The ONLY odd thing is how long it takes for it to tune in each time we switch it on... don't worry - it's fine, but you have to "hold the faith" for a a bit longer than you might imagine while it sorts itself out. Once it's up and running, it's easy to use and does everything you'd want. Not sure if the picture and sound quality are down to this PVR or the TV, but they're great too.”
“Represents excellent value for money. Condition was excellent and easy to set up. EPG is great . Looks like new you would not know it was a refurbished item. Very happy with the purchase and it arrived well packaged and on time. A great buying experience.”
“i would have given this item a 5 star review but for the fact Humax have added a "power saving " function this basically cuts off the rf aerial loop thru when you put the receiver in standby mode .This cuts off the rf aerial supply to the tv and therefore no signal to the tv and so tv is useless when the Humax receiver is turned off NOT particularly useful really .
After contacting Humax technical i was advised this was a "power saving feature" and most people therefore left the Humax receiver on even when not doing a recording hmmmmm yeah right how is that power saving ?? does the reciever use more power in a standby mode than in a on position ??.
However you can change the settings in the menu to enable you to use the receiver in a conventional way though it may need a bit of finding in the instructions and on screen menus .”
