Boker Plus XS Heinnie® Edition Folding Knife Reviews

4.6 Rating 40 Reviews
Read Heinnie Haynes Reviews

The Boker Plus XS has been one of the most popular UK carry folders of recent times. The substantial, sub three inch, non-locking blade has a great deal of resistance in the slip joint mechanism making it a superb choice for your everyday carry, using knife.
This little beauty has now had the Heinnie® treatment to add to its appeal. Exclusive to us and with a unique serial number* on the back of the blade this is a cracking addtion to your beloved Heinnie® collection and a superbly practical knife to boot.
The handle is, of course, red G10 and for this model, the blade is made using 440C stainless steel and it's razor sharp out of the box. Dual thumb studs make it left hand friendly and a firm pocket clip enables ease of carry.
These knives are serial numbered, but sadly we're not able to select a particular number for each order.

This knife is fantastic. The construction is excellent and the blade centred without any adjustment required from the box. The blade is sharp and the retention mechanism is extremely robust. Whilst it is obviously a non-locking folder to ensure compliance with UK law, the mechanism is such that I haven't found myself feeling the absence of a lock is particularly problematic. If there is a downside it is a direct consequence of having such substantial build - by comparison with something like my Spyderco UKPKs it is a good deal bigger so probably not the kind of thing you'd want to pop in your suit pocket. At the price I think it's fantastic value for money.

Had many edc carry knifes in the past, some being better than others. But value for money this product is great with the finger choil, cut my fingers countless times in the past with UK slipjoints, by far my favroute edc, good and useful for may of tasks that may appear, with full confidence this knife is definitely strong and holds up a nice edge, would recommend for the price, nothing in my opinion comes close and will work as good as knifes double the price

Bought this knife to replace a ukpk as found it to be rubbish. This is a lovely shaving sharp knife out of the box. Feels great in the hand and has a bit of weight too. Only down side was I found the pocket clip dug into my hand a bit while opening it. Removed it anyway as don't use them. Fantastic service as ever.

Strange dimpling on blade and two scratches. Almost like there's dust trapped under the blade coating

If anyone is concerned about whether this is legal to carry in public by right and without requiring "a good reason" then be reassured that it is. Section 139 of the Criminal Justice Act grants an exemption for folding knives with a "cutting edge" under 3 inches. The length of the blade is irrelevant and so can be over 3 inches. Another reviewer (Dave) makes reference to the case of Brooker v DPP (2005) in support of his (erroneous) view that the length of the blade is what is relevant. That case actually dealt with whether a blunt butter knife with no sharp point was prohibited by Section 139. As it was not a folding knife then it could not be covered by the statutory exemption regardless of length. Beware armchair lawyers.

This is my favourite UK legal every day carry folder, I already own the standard version and when I saw the Hennie special edition I had to have it as a backup and as an added bonus it's even cheaper than the standard Booker version!

I have had the original one for 10 years plus, but looks a bit aggressive. This one in silver and red gives a different feel about it. Lovely easy open and I think Boker have listened to their audience and soften the back making it smoother and easier to open and shut. With the half half choil you still have no chance of it folding up on you.
