“The way we were treated, the food etc were very good and plentiful and the river and visits were great.. The cabins were small (this was expected ) but well though out with enough space to put things and move around.
The visits were interesting and well organised and just what we hoped. The morrings were in interesting places with plenty of space for an evening or morning strole.
It did get very hot at times and the A-con strugled a bit but personally I had no problems sleeping and it was 31/32 outside which is a bit over the top. In any case there was iced water, or other cool drinks, tea and coffee freely available,
Help with our luggage on and off the boat was a lovely touch. All the staff were very happy to help with anything, had time to talk and were always smiley and seemed happy to be there.
Thank you all for a great time. I have now got to buy 'Rebecca' as I didn't finish it on board.too much to see and a lot too much talk while on the top dack.”
“A very enjoyable week's cruise. Excellent food, brilliant chef who managed to cook three excellent meals a day in a small kitchen, helpful friendly crew. Interesting, well plannned visits. A small ship with only 19 passengers so all very friendly. It was an excedingly hot week, so the small cabins were rather too hot but this is probably not often a problem! Sitting on the top deck , gently sailing through lovely countryside was a great pleasure ( or watching it from the saloon when the sun was just too hot to stay outside!)”
“We were very happy with almost all aspects of the cruise - the itinerary, trips, food and staff all met our expectations and we were not disappointed. The only downside was the lack of sleep for three consecutive nights when our cabin was devoid of any air conditioning whatsever - this resulted a a cabin temperture approaching that of a sauna. This situation was brought to the attention of numerous crew members but sadly no-one felt obliged to even visit the cabin. On one occasion we were told "you're lucky not to be in the crew quarters - it is even hotter!" Speaking with other guests it was clear that this problem was not experienced by most others.”
“I have nothing but praise for all the staff on my recent cruise.
The care that was taken over my dietary needs etc was done with no fuss
The food was excellent, staff very helpful, trips interesting.
My sister and i would not hesitate to recomend English Holiday Criuses”
“Overall, we enjoyed the week, and my comments below are offered in the spirit of making it even better. As is often the case on such cruises, the other guests were gregarious and interesting, and the opportunity to interact with them was perhaps the main highlight. The visit highlights were the three cathedrals, especially Tewkesbury. Each of them had a choral evensong the day we were there, but unfortunately the cruise timings prevented us from attending, which was disappointing. Overall, we had a snapshot of the long and varied history of this part of England. It's a pity that on-board briefings didn't make more of this. In fact, it's the on-board experience which has most potential for enhancement. Mostly little things (too numerous to mention but including cleanliness of glasses/cutlery, and being a bit more proactive). Main meals were good, but a little more imagination with breakfasts and lunches would be welcome. Some fresh on-board baking would be appreciated and would lift the mood when cruising for several hours between moorings. Individually, the crew were pleasant, but a little more engagement/sensitivity with the guests would be welcomed - obviously some distance is necessary, but it doesn't need to feel like "us and them". Sorry if all this sounds a bit critical - my analytical instincts always push me towards suggesting how good things can be made even better. Thanks for a refreshing break.”
“Hallo i had a wonderful time on the boat
I must praise the chef for being able to accommodate my dietary requirements
However The fact that the air con was off because the generator was turned of at night was a big problem as the portholes do not open and I could not sleep in the stuffiness of the cabin in the summer
Also I can not go in the sun fora prolonged length of time and as there were no shade cloths on deck I was restriced to before 10.00 and after 16.30 Not ideal
Once again The crew were super, food was good and the outings great
Thank you”
“The crew did their best during a very hot week but the boat is not equiped to cope with the heat, not being helped by the air conditioning being turned off at night. The tours were slightly disorganised and not to the standard I would expect.”
