“All the staff did everything they could to make our holiday as enjoyable experience they could, always with a smile. The quality of a company is how they deal when things go wrong and Jay and co did when the boat was stranded up river due to low water levels.”
“We had the most wonderful time from start to finish. Jay and staff were so welcoming and informative and the crew on board were absolutely marvellous. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and we never had a poor meal. Our fellow guests were lovely, too and everyone got on very well. All in all, a great experience (even with some rain and a slightly altered schedule due to the drought) - didn’t want to come home!!!!”
“Despite lack of water issues due to no rain in Gloucester Docks we had a great 6 days/nights. Great food, good company, lovely helpful staff. The off the boat trips were good not too strenious. In fact 100% recommendation. The o/nite hotel selected pre cruise was not to an acceptable standard especially with food provision, but that is not related to cruise. We would do the cruise again - but not the hotel”
“We thoroughly enjoyed our Severn Vale Discovery Cruise on board the Edward Elgar last week.
The boat was everything we expected it to be,the cabins small but perfectly adequate for our needs,well thought out storage & comfortable beds .
The captain and crew worked amazingly hard to meet everyone's needs, communicated well , were very friendly and attentive & kept everything very clean, running smoothly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and presented beautifully and my vegetarian meals were perfect. How Jack produced such imaginative varied meals, canapés & cakes in such a small space is beyond me. His scones were second to none!
The girls Liberty and Fleur serving the food , amongst numerous other tasks, were so efficient and polite . The choice of inclusive drinks was more than adequate . Henry was as busy as everyone else - multi skilled & talented!
When there was a problem, not of anyone's making in Gloucester docks, we were kept well informed by Capt Dan and it was a joy to see how well they all pulled together as a team to keep everything going and not disrupt our holiday at all. Providing taxis when it was too darned hot to walk far on one occasion was an unexpected, much appreciated bonus.
What a slick operation from start to finish, from arrival and garaging the car to departure from the boathouse. Well done & many thanks to you all and very best wishes for your future ventures.”
“The boat was comfortable and clean. The chef produced a variety of wonderful food at every meal, always freshly prepared and perfectly cooked. The staff were all lovely and nothing was ever too much trouble. None of the excursions included were far from the boat and the itinerary for each was always clearly explained, including walkability and disabled access. I will be recommending this trip to all of my friends.”
“We close the Discovery Cruise so mum could experience a river cruise without having to go abroard.We both enjoyed the mix of peaceful scenic cruising and interesting excursions.The food was excellent and the crew friendly and attentive.Travelling with a small group of like minded passengers,we were in good company.It felt like being with a group of friends.”
