“What a wonderful experience! Delicious food and wine from the get go. Lovely crew, stunning views. You can explore the towns or just relax with a good book (or do both).”
“We had an excellent holiday, which we enjoyed very much, and the other passengers were a very nice bunch. The food was excellent, with excellent variation, although the service of breakfast was sometimes a bit slow. The itinerary was very good, with some interesting visits. We particularly enjoyed Worcester, but Upton was a bit tatty.
However, the cabin was hot and stuffy and that made it difficult to sleep - we could not understand why the ventilation was hardly ever switched on (the instructions in our cabin said that we could switch it on ourselves, but this did not work) - other passengers told us they had the same problems. Also, as previously reported, the drain from our shower was blocked; we cleared a lot of nasty gunge out of it ourselves (dirty, greasy hair, etc) and reported it to the crew but it was never put right (disappointing!) - the blockage is presumably further down - the bathroom flooded every time we used the shower and it needed about five minutes work with the squeeegee to get some of the water to drain away.”
“An enjoyable cruise- hence the 4 stars. The crew and passengers were let down by the indifference of the captain. I suspect he was personally glad not to go beyond Worcester bridge at it would have meant having to lower the roof of the wheelhouse.”
“Excellent trip!
Good company, quality food and drink - brilliant chef and cabin crew members - skipper(s) looked after us with their sailing expertise and we always felt that safety of passengers was their first priority.
The company went the extra mile to ensure that when itineraries had to change, they were able to find an alternative.
Enjoyed the added steam train trip and all places visited gave adequate time to explore.
A couple of points for feedback on future trips - The cabins could benefit from some form of overnight ventilation. The shower room and toilet requires a more thorough clean between trips. Sailing commentary's could be better organised/more information. Some people found a lack of trip information ie the steam train trip, we were left with no guidance.”
“Despite not getting to stourport we had a fantastic time. The causes of the itinerary change were fully explained and everyone did what was necessary to ensure we had a good time.”
“We very much enjoyed our cruise on the Severn. Blessed by good weather, we mostly spent our mornings on on the top deck relaxing and appreciating the restful scenery before visiting the interesting towns (Worcester, Stourport, Upton and lastly Gloucester) in the afternoons. The lounge and dining room were very comfortable though the bedroom was functional but necessarily small. With an excellent and friendly captain and crew, first-rate food and drinks and personable fellow guests, we had a wonderful holiday without the travel hassles of a continental cruise.”
“A very enjoyable six nights cruise
The choice of destinations was good.
The food onboard was varied and well presented.
The crew were very friendly and efficient.”
