Love the formula, it’s super hydrating without leaving an oily finish

This was recommended to me by Gothamista. I was looking for a comforting sunscreen for my dry skin, and I’m sadden to say this is not it. I’m so mad at myself for not reading the ingredients list. I hate zinc oxide and this sunscreen was not an exception. It’s drying and it pills a little, especially around my nose. What is it about zinc oxide that makes sunscreens drying but extremely suffocating (occlusive) at the same time!? The only plus is that it doesn’t irritate my skin. But taking into account all the gorgeous sunscreens out there, this is a no-no. I guess if your skin is not that dry, you could enjoy it. Not a bad product, just not for me.

I really wanted to love this but I live in Australia so amazing sunscreen is a must! The amount I had to use to get 50spf meant it left a white cast (even though I’m pale), was greasy and really heavy feeling. I never got burnt using it but my hyper-pigmentation definitely reared it’s head when I used this compared to other sunscreens I’ve used. The worst bit is it blocked my pores and gave me little pimples when ever I used it under makeup. I love Dr. Sam but I think it’s exceptionally hard to get a physical sunscreen to feel like a chemical sunscreen and this one just didn’t work in sweaty, sun baked Australia.

I really struggle to find sunscreen that isn’t too heavy and doesn’t break me out. I have oily skin and wound avoid wearing spf everyday for this reason. Dr Emma suggested this to me and I’ve never looked back. I love the texture and the way it absorbs into your skin - also not a single breakout! I have also used it on holiday and didn’t get a single burn

A sunscreen that is effective full of moisture and easy to reapply. Well made and you do not look ashy!

Heavier suncream. Too much for me in the summer or running on to tubes etc. I get too hot and it sweats off. However, perfect at home (have been loving in lockdown) or in the winter. Skin feels very protected in the cold weather and helps with my rosacea. Not for 365 days a year but a great product for the skin care arsenal depending on the day.

A month in and noticing a massive difference. Wish I'd found this sooner.

I discovered Dr Sam during the first lockdown back in March and her tips and Instagram lives have truly saved my skin. I have learnt the true importance of using SPF due to her, and I am so glad she has released this SPF as an easy, fuss free step to add to my skincare routine.
