Compared to stock, the throw is way shorter, about an inch and a half less. although it is a little clunky at first, but once its broken in its bloody brilliant

Where did all the slack go! What a difference! This kit is fairly simple to fit and not expensive yet it makes a real difference to the feel and the throw of the gear lever, well worth fitting.

Good build quality, measured my throw before / after and it's about 20% less. I used the MOSS Rebuild kit at the same time but unfortunately, the 5X Racing bronze bushing doesn't fit. It did fit on the stock shifter I removed though so I think the ball end on this is not exactly the same size.

Relatively cheap in comparison to other short shifters I've seen so I wanted to give it a try. I don't regret my purchase, the components feel sturdy, I very much like that you can unscrew the top half of the shifter and easier fit an upper shift boot (if you've got one) instead of having to pull it over with force (or lube). So that's a good feature, what was less good was the lack of instructions. However, whoever buys this kind of component knows how to approach the installation, I didn't mind it too much. Other than needing to hammer back one of the two pins on my 2002 NB in the shifter turret everything fit fine.

A worthwhile upgrade with some caveats. Made a pretty huge (positive) difference in shifter feel on my aging NA, I was quite surprised by how much slop it has taken out of the system. Downsides are that it comes with no manual (but really easy to install, so no big deal at all) and that the bolts seem to be really weak (broke one off, into the shifter turret, while hand tightening with an open wrench) - so go easy on the torque there!
