Iberico Baby Back Pork Ribs, Acorn and Herb Flavored, 1Kg, High in Mono-unsaturated Fats, Healthy Pork Reviews

4.8 Rating 333 Reviews
Read Basco Fine Foods Reviews

Iberico Baby Back Ribs are cut straight from the Iberico pork loin. They are succulent and tasty, with a high quality that's maintained throughout. These ribs are smaller in size than those from a standard white pig, but the flavour of Iberico ribs is far superior. The indigenous black Iberico pigs roam the Dehesa forests of southwest Spain, where they feed on herbs, grass, and acorns. This unique diet contributes to the wonderful flavour of these Baby Back pork ribs, as well as the marbling that makes Iberico pork ribs special. The acorn and herb flavoured pork is high in mono-unsaturated fats that melt at low temperatures, making it a healthier option than standard pork. Iberico Baby Back ribs have a higher fat content than standard white pork ribs, but their flavour is more complex due to the pigs' diet of grass, herbs, and acorns. They are easy to cook and offer a delicious, authentic taste of Iberico pork.

The ribs were very fatty, it took a good twenty minutes just cutting it off. The ribs are small so lost a lot due to the fat. In saying that, they cooked very well and tasted good. Need better quality control I’m afraid.

Hi Gary, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear the ribs didn’t fully meet your expectations. Our Ibérico ribs are cut from the baby back section, which naturally carries a higher level of marbling and external fat compared to conventional pork ribs. This is a characteristic of authentic acorn-fed Ibérico pork and is what gives the ribs their rich flavour, tenderness and moisture when cooked. Unlike leaner commercial ribs, Ibérico pork develops a high level of healthy mono-unsaturated fat similar to that found in olive oil. We’re pleased to hear they cooked well and tasted good, and we genuinely appreciate the balanced feedback. Thank you again for your support and for choosing Basco. Kind regards, The Basco Team

Cook them the way Basco suggests on their website and glaze with some membrillo, marmalade or something else sticky and sweet. A winner every time.

Very poor quality! I even got ill after I ate the first piece. The remaining piece came frozen with a hair included. I will be requesting the refund of this Iberico pork. Very disappointing!!

Tenderised with a quick and simple marinade of olive oil, lemon juice and garlic, then slow-baked in the oven, these are the most delicious ribs we ever tasted. Even those provided by proper butcher shops [not to mention what supermarkets are offering] are so bland that they can not even begin to be compared to the quality of Iberico ribs. They are unique and wonderful.
