I came across these scales on a baking course I did at Redbournbury Mill in Herts and was really pleased to find them on here. The scales are tough enough feel like they're made for bread-making! Well designed with a movable plastic cover for keeping the buttons clean; you can put dishes on the scales and go back to zero which really helps! It also has a bread-making percentage calculator which I haven't yet used but will do. Large plate to fit any size dish on simple controls battery or mains operated change from metric to imperial weights simply. I am so pleased I spent a bit extra to get these well worth it!

I've properly put these scales to the test in the first week of owning them, producing 43 loaves last week from my home kitchen, and they've more than stood up to the challenge, they've excelled themselves! The platform is nice and large so is great for placing large bowls and containers on for weighing down (which has saved me a lot of extra washing up). It's also perfect for weighing out dough when dividing and is removable too, which makes washing the scales much easier. The bakers percentage function is useful; for me it comes into it's own when refreshing my sourdough starters. I keep a 125% hydration wheat starter, so as long as I add the flour first, all I need to do is press the percentage button, tare the scales, and add water until it hits 125. This is certainly easier than getting my calculator out every time I want to triple the starter. The display is nice and easy to read, and choosing the AC adapter is definitely worthwhile, batteries aren't cheap! Overall, this is an excellent scale, I wish I had invested in it earlier.

After struggling with domestic scales made by pretty famous manufacturers- with readouts that vary up and down by significant amount within moments, these scales are a revelation. They have the expected tare function and a brilliant indicator to show when the weight has "settled". The 8kg is more than I'll need for the time being, but (again) the domestic scales don't give me the 4kg that I need. The best bit has to be that my daughter bought me these scales for Christmas. She knows me well!
