I used to use this yeast when I lived in the USA. It works very well if you just add the dry yeast to the flour and does not perform any better if you go through the unnecessary step of adding it to water +/- sugar.

I love this stuff, I threw away all my other dried yeast brands after one bake with Saf Levure. It has made such a difference to my baguettes in terms of flavour and even texture of the dough. The smell it produces during resting/proving is deliciously intoxicating. It’s not as aggressive as the dried yeast brands from the supermarket and this shows especially when rising in the fridge overnight. I’ve also found I can reduce the yeast amount by 25% and still get superb results. Really a great great product.

I tried this as Allinson's now has an emulsifier additive whereas this is pure yeast. Easier to dissolve and smells great. Would buy again.

The only place I was able to find SAF active dried yeast. I'll be back when I run out.
