Improved the finish on my bread. Nice caramelised crust. Easier to handle than my ceramic cloche a better finish.

Just received mine, build quality looks excellent. I bought one to replace an aged stone wear one which cracked a lid and after receiving a pan of excellent quality made by the same company.

This is a fantastic piece of kit and has enabled me to improve my sourdough bread baking. It gives me more flexibility, as I can bake both boules and batards with an impressive oven spring. I bake predominantly Forkish style sourdough bread and the full size loaves in either shape fit nicely in this cloche. In addition, the aftercare you receive from Netherton Foundry is second to none, as when I noticed the rubber washer had become detached where the handle is attached, I contacted them and they immediately sent me a few replacements and I received them the next day. I was going to purchase the Challenger Bread Pan, but the lightweight nature of this cloche and reduced cost in comparison encouraged me to purchase the Netherton Foundry cloche. I could not be more satisfied with my decision.

Incredible quality, gives my sourdough loaves great spring and is a thing of beauty to sit on my worktop when not in use.

I used the Spun Iron Cloche for the first time, baking a sourdough loaf and was very pleased with the rise of the bake and even colour of the crust. I had re-seasoned the cloche as per instruction as I have used Netherton Foundry loaf tins before with good results. With my La Sassafras cloche, the lid wasn't evenly married to the base and the resultant bread was not evenly baked. No such problem with the Netherton Spun Iron Cloche and I look forward to many years of baking with it. A good investment.
