“This is a really lovely idea - a clay base and domed top (more like a cheese dish) which you insert into your oven where it acts like a mini clay bread oven. I am only in the early days of using it (and experimenting with the differing instructions as to its use) but it seems to create a very good environment for a loaf - keeping it moist without having to insert trays of water into the oven. And, for those of us whose sourdough loaves tend to flatten in the oven, the sides of the base of the cloche give some support for a more rounded loaf. Unlesss you really have no more rooom for baking kit, definitely worth trying.”
