Purchased this item for a xmas gift, looked at various companies and outlets comparing quality along with materials available. For the money this is excellent value, the product was well packaged and delivered on time.

I initially bough the dome, but it arrved with the base cracked. Although Bakerybits bits efficiently wanted to send me a new one, I changed my mind and bought the granite baking stone. It is hard to find a stone this good. It makes crispy pizzas and great spring rise fir bread. I have had the stone for 2 or 3 years so plenty of time to try it out. Bakerybits is such a great company for bread lovers that I finally decided to post a review. I am thnking of buying another stone, the refractory clay one. I wonder if it has the same results as the granite stone. Delivery and especially spotless and dealt with any problem efficiently and fast. Many Thanks J.C.L London

What a difference to my bread! Professional wood-fired oven style bread from your own electric oven. Can't wait to try it on a pizza. I also want to try it for pastry making, my hands are too hot to get it right, perhaps a while in the fridge or freezer will fix that.

I had a disappointment with the first stone I received, as it cracked when used. But one phone call and a replacement was despatched. The first one I Received, was black with long streaking white marbling running throughout it, but must have had a natural unseen flaw line and started to crack from one edge of a white streak, I tried it another time and the crack continued right across the stone following the natural line of the marble streaking. The replacement is of a different type of granite, it seems very solid and a traditional flecking in the polished surface. I have used it a few times since receiving it and so far everything seems perfect. Because of the weight I keep it permanently on a wire rack in the smaller top oven of my domestic double oven, which is now my 'bread oven' it works beautifully, and when everything has cooled down I can just slide the rack forward to clean off any flour residue. Thank you Bakerybits on the excellent service I received when things went wrong.
