Have put off buying a Lame fo a while due to prices & just use a blade. Took the plunge to purchase due to price. Disappointed; due to the design , the way the blade is held in by the holder i cannot get a clean cut on the dough. The plastic frame catches before the blade cuts. I would not buy again

This lame is a recent purchase and, on the two occasions I have used it, it gave good results. So did Bakery Bits own little red-handled lame, which I have used many times, but that one is single blade and disposable when worn out, whereas this Bordelaise lame has the potential benefit of accepting a standard razor blade, packs of which I buy anyway for my razor. How easy it will be to change the blade of the Bordelaise and how durable its plastic arms are will be discovered in due course.

I lost my last lame, and no matter how much you sharpen an ordinary knife, if just won't work the same on soft dough. So I bought this one, and it's pretty good.
