“Been using the speaker stands for several months now. They really make my KEF LS50s shine. Only concern I have with them is the narrow opening for pouring material to enhance their weight. They do overall represent great value considering their modest price.”
Thank you for your comments. On the latest version of this speaker stand the size of the holes at the top of the tubes have been increased to make it easier to put sand in the tubes.
“I needed a 20" tall stand, and options in that size are somewhat limited.I wanted something that was stout in construction, and did not really want anything made of wood. I needed a larger than normal top plate, and I also knew that I did not want to spend more than a couple hundred bucks, tops.
To say that I was pleasantly surprised with the build quality of these stands is an understatement. It only took a few moments to put them together, and they are built like the proverbial brick outhouse. Although I am pretty sure that they weren't designed for the purpose(!), they quite literally could be used as a battering ram if I ever needed to break through a door.
I personally don't ascribe any magical sonic properties to a speaker stand...it simply needs to provide a sturdy platform to hold my speakers, and ideally not be easy to knock over. These completely fill the bill and in my estimation represent excellent value for the money.”
