“About two years ago I purchased a freestanding DAC for my Bluesound Vault. I also got a Pangea Premier SE Digital Coax Cable from Audio Advisor. The Pangea was an improvement over the stock cord. Recently, I’ve been refreshing my vibration control devices and I discovered I had the cable installed backwards which surprised me. On examination, it turned out that the cable had a directional arrow at the receiving end only, with the source side blank.
I switched it and the sound improved, noticeably but not dramatically. That would be my feelings about the other Pangea cables I purchased: enough audible improvement that it was not worth returning. Now, I suppose I was remiss in assuming the cables were non-directional and not being more careful, but other companies mark both ends. Also, I don’t know how careful Pangea expects a customer to be when his head is buried behind an audio rack and the jacks are fighting with the plugs.
So, I don’t really find Pangea cables to be the value brand they brand they claim to be, and to Jay Victor I would say: “Aw, C’mon Man!!!””
“Excellent quality cables. I have bought more than 7 Pangea cables. I bought this for a new DAC so I haven't compared it to anything else, but I will tell you that my system sounds better than ever.”
“Your digital cable carries ALL the musical information to your DAC. So WHY would you cheap out there? It makes no sense. You can be assured that with this cable, you're good enough, whether your system is entry level or SOTA. Just get it.”
“Using this cable with my Bluesound Node Gen 3 fed into Parasound P6 digital coax input. Outstanding hi-res sound quality I had yet to hear from other streaming devices/combinations. High quality cable does make a difference!”
