“It was very good, but then I saw that Pangea had a upgrade XL, which took about 50 hours, then really started to open up, and it wasn't that much more”
“Purchased this cable from Audio Advisor to connect a Marantz CD6005 to a MAC MA5200. I've only used it several hours, thus far, and this is the first time the DAC in the MAC has been pressed into service. My immediate impression is that I'm getting just a hair more bass slam with this digital coaxial connection than I was getting with high-quality analog interconnects and the Marantz set to AUDIO MODE EX 2. I haven't made up my mind, yet, if this tiny extra bass response is quite as well defined or as accurate as the analog interconnects and Marantz set to AUDIO MODE EX 2. The perceived difference is ever so slight but noticeable, nonetheless. I'm thinking this is likely a phenomenon of the MAC's DAC needing some burn-in time. Generally speaking, I've never been a believer of cables needing burn-in time. Everything else throughout the frequency response range(s) is virtually the same, as in excellent. My intention is to continue using this digital coaxial connection for many more hours to come to see or hear what happens (i.e. MAC DAC burn-in). Presently, the difference in bass response between this and the analog connection with Marantz set to AUDIO Mode EX2 is so negligible, I don't feel it's worth the effort to switch back to the analog interconnects. If this minute, virtually inconsequential scintilla of lack in bass definition or accuracy improves or, for that matter, if there are any other audio improvements as a result of more burn-in time of the MAC's DAC, this, of course, will be most welcomed. This cable is obviously well constructed, flexible, not too stiff and gives every appearance of quality manufacturing. Compared to the AQ Cinnamon, I thought this one was a much better value for what seems to be virtually the same or possibly slightly better components & design. Put that all together with the fact that you're dealing with a class act like Audio Advisor and you've got a winner! Go for it!”
“I was using an older and more expensive cable [highly rated at the time] for years - but the Pangea SE improved all aspects of performance for very little money. Best value in digital cables - hands down.”
