“Bought three for the streamer, pre-amp and amp. The sound is measurably better, fuller and tighter bass. These things are hefty, they look like they could provide shore power to a destroyer! I would recommend buying the next length up if the fit is tight and you need to align either cable end with the power source or the equipment.”
“This product is, if anything, overbuilt. That's a good thing and not a criticism. It really grips on both ends. The price is good too and much lower than the competition. If I had a complaint, it would be that the plug grip is a little too big for some applications.”
“With a limited understanding of electricity and electronics, it doesn't make sense to me that the last few feet of a power coming from the wall, given consideration for shielding and similar gauge, should make a difference in the sound. That being said, I could hear a difference. I compared the XL with the 14 and SE editions. Right out of the box the XL sounded noticeably better than the 14, but only slightly more mellow than the SE. I think for the cost, the SE might be a better deal, but I bought a couple of more XLs while they were on sale.”
“My Triton Reference speakers don't have a ground pin so being able to remove it was a plus. These cables are very well made and a significant upgrade, in both looks and performance, over the GoldenEar supplied ones.”
“High quality made cable. Using an appropriate length cleans up the snarly wire mess behind the cabinet. Allow a little extra length than needed as the heavily shielded thick cable is a little stiff to make tight corners. I am happy with the cable.”
“It made a noticeable improvement with my DA Converter. It helped tighten up the mid base and brought out a little more detail that wasn't there before.”
