To replace those cords, I began my search for an AC power cord that's rugged and well shielded from RFI/EMI. My search ended with the Pangea 14 XL. I can't imagine there's anything better at any price.”

“I have been looking and considering this power cable for a couple of years. What took me so long? I bought just one to try as the power cable on my pre-amp. My wife and i did a listening test first with the standard power cable and then with the Pangea. The difference in sound quality was heard immediately. The sound was richer and fuller. It was more pronounced when I streamed music thru my DAC compared to listening to vinyl on the turntable. I think that is because our turntable setup is of a higher quality to begin with. “After reading articles over the years about the advantages of upgraded power cords and being stunned at the prices that are attached to some of them I decided to give the Pangea cords a shot. After all it was not that much of a risk for what they were asking for them. So I ordered a pair of AC 9SE Mk Is cords one for my Ayer ax5 amp and one for my Marantz SA 10 CD player. The cord attached well to the amplifier but with the CD player it was touch and go. If you'll excuse the analogy it was like a Mastiff mating with a Papillon. But one thing for sure the sound was great. After contemplating the situation and fearing for the safety of my sweet sounding Marantz I ordered and installed the AC 14 XL cable. Installation was easy and it looked far more appropriate. Nothing was lost audibly. So currently I have the larger cords coming to and from my power conditioner to the amp and the smaller cord to the CD player. A break in period is needed and although the sound difference was noticeably improved from the start some edginess is disappearing over time. Very happy with the purchase and highly recommended”
