Made appointment to see if there was anything could be done with my long standing thread veins. I am 74 and had surgery with NHS at aged 40 which did not go well so did not want surgery again. The doctor scanned both legs and we discussed non surgical treatment - laser and foam sclerotherapy and all the medical risks. I was given the Patient Info Pack to take away and plenty of time to read and make a decision whether to have the treatment. I felt very comfortable with the examination and the discussion afterwards and nurse and doctor answered all my questions honestly regarding age and expected outcomes. After 2 weeks I decided that I wanted to have the treatment and this was not just because of cosmetic reasons.

I felt no real pain having the procedure done and they were all very friendly with no complaints from myself. I did become worried as the weeks went by because I had painful swelling below my right knee, that at this date I still have. The Consultant did explain to me at the six week check-up that this was good, the swelling would eventually go down and would clear. I certainly hope so.

The service and attention I received was outstanding. I was made to feel very welcome by all the staff . Got offered a cup of Tea and biscuit while waiting and the reception staff were very chatty & friendly . Dr Susie Goodwin was great and made me feel at ease. She listened to me attentively and explained very clearly the various procedures that were available and also any risk that comes with any procedure . The examination was very thorough and she explained everything that was happening on the ultra sound scanner. She gave me peace of mind that she would be able to help with my unsightly varicose veins issues in both my legs . I left the consultation feeling confident that when I receive my treatments that I will be in safe hands of Dr Susie and the rest of the team .

Dr Letto Mailli, nurse and receptionist were all lovely and friendly. I have probably the worst legs in the world and I'm very self conscious about them, so this was a big step even having the first consultation and ultrasound. I am just waiting for the report to come through and then I have a couple of further questions before I book treatment. I am very scared, but I will have the Recommended surgery, I've had two children, it can't be worse than that can it?

I was happy with the consultation but not at all happy when I phoned up to make an appointment to have my veins done. I was told I needed to pay a non-refundable deposit of £500. When I asked what would happen if I was ill I was told it ‘would be taken into consideration’ with the implication being that the deposit wouldn’t be transferred to an alternative appointment. I think this is taking advantage of people. The procedure is an awful lot of money and I certainly didn’t go down this route half heartedly. The consultation itself is very expensive and the start of the commitment to the treatment. To be told that a £500 deposit paid for a booking is very likely to be lost seems unethical. I was also told at this point that the consultant I needed to have to do the procedure only worked one day a week which is highly inconvenient for those of us with full time jobs. At the time of phoning I said I wanted to speak to someone at the clinic I had attended. The person I was speaking to seemed very reluctant about this but did eventually say they’d get someone to call me - I have heard nothing.

Dear Mrs Gibson,  Thank you for leaving a review. Sorry to hear that you are unhappy regarding the deposit. We would like to take this opportunity to explain things further.  A non-refundable deposit is taken at the point of booking to ensure that we have commitment to the appointment as organised. We understand that there could be times where circumstances change, such as illness, and we would of course transfer that to a future appointment. The deposit is more to safeguard against excessive "no show" patients.  Consultant availability, in some locations, is limited to one day per week. That picture does change over time and consultants scale up and down their availability throughout they year to cope with demand, whilst balancing their commitment to the NHS.  We hope the above helps and our clinic manager will be in touch soon to discuss this further. Please do let us know if you have any other questions in the meantime.  Best wishes, Emily

It was all a good experience from reception to my consultation. The Dr seemed quite professional. But my consultation was on one of the coldest days of the year it wasn't very warm in the building. The specialist told me my legs were fine, but unfortunately with it being cool my veins I am troubled with seemed to be on their best behaviour. But I did feel the Dr could have examined the side of my leg I was most concerned with. He didn't seem at all worried about any of my veins. I felt disappointed that nothing was going to happen to improve my veins that cause trouble in summer.

Good morning,  Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.  I am glad to hear that you had a good experience from reception to your consultation. However, I am sorry to hear that the building wasn’t very warm. I will pass this valuable feedback on to our team to avoid this happening in the future.  In regards to the consultation and scan, please be reassured that our consultants are highly experienced in this process and the examination that takes place is thorough. As this is an open platform I am unable to go into detail about your specific case, however upon review, following the duplex ultrasound scan our consultant confirmed that there are no faulty valves inside your veins, and that your veins are actually healthy. We would never recommend treatment to healthy veins, as performing treatment could actually make these veins look worse which we would absolutely not want to happen. I hope this explanation helps, but I have passed this over to our clinic manager who will be in touch in case you have any further questions or queries you would like answering.  Best wishes, Emily

I have only been for my consultation so far and a scan of my legs. From going in , the receptionist was really friendly and offered me a drink as soon as i arrived, then dr diwakar and his assistant who were really friendly and talked me through everything that was going to happen on the day of the procedure and how long it will take for me to see results. Really happy so far 👍

I found my first visit to be excellent the receptionist, nurse and surgeon were all very professional, friendly and answered all my questions. I booked the date to have my treatment before leaving as I am so confident with everything they advised me. I was recommended to use The Vein Centre by a friend and they met all my expectations.

The whole experience was very successful, very warm and friendly, but I just feel as I am extremely vulnerable and my age I would rather not proceed with the procedure thank you

My overall experience with doctor, nurse and receptionist was very good and I was happy to choose the vein centre. However, doctor was not able to offer a solution to rid the veins. I also think that there won’t ever be a cure for my vein problem.

I was extremely impressed with my treatment . As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted by a lovely man at reception, he made me a pot of tea and reassured me about my procedure . The Nurses went through everything with me before the doctor performed the EVLA so I knew what to expect .The doctor was also explaining every thing that he was doing from start to finish . I felt very comfortable and would recommend the Vein Centre.

Everyone was very helpful. The nurse welcomed me into the examination room and went out-of her way to reassure me and check that I was comfortable. Dr. Mark Regi was very professional and explained in detail the type of treatment that would help to improve the condition of my legs.

Was really nervous but the receptionist was really friendly made me and my husband a coffee and kept us informed of how long we would be. I saw the doctor who was friendly and explained everything clearly and answered all my questions. I felt comfortable and not at all pressured to make a decision about having further treatment but I am going to have my veins removed this Saturday
