“Aftermarket tailgate struts. Code VB0767 Please note that these struts DO NOT FIT A T5, T6 OR T6.1 without modification and are VERY DANGEROUS. The original VW struts have a top connection which is purposefully angled to accommodate the different angles the struts goes through when the tailgate is closed to open. These are straight. This puts strain on the struts which is in lateral tension all the time it is fitted. Eventually mine popped off resulting in the tailgate crashing down injuring my wife. If you use these struts then please unscrew and use the top connector from the original VW struts and NOT the one supplied with the strut.”
