“I have never been disappointed when ordering from The Journal Shop. They take care with packaging the products so all items arrive in excellent condition unlike some other online stationery shops. They have a great selection of Japanese brands which I love, especially Traveler's Company, Kokuyo and Stalogy. In my recent order I purchased the Kokuyo Bobbin machine and accessories, which are not available anywhere else in the U.K. I hope to see other hard to get items in the future as I will make sure to support this store with future purchases.”

“I am very upset. I haven´t received the product yet. It is taking really long, and I need the diary, so i am thinking about buying another one and returning the parcel if it doesn´t arrive soon. I´ve sent a couple of e-mails to customer care but they say the problem is Royal Mail´s. Besides the quality of the product, after this experience I wouldn´t recommend to by in The Journal Shop.”

Hi Victoria We were really sorry to read you review and this is not at all the experience we hoped you'd have with us. You are quite right, at the moment, Royal Mail workers have chosen to strike all throughout December which is naturally the busiest period for sales in retail. We rely a great deal on Royal Mail and doing this means that we can offer good shipping rates across the world. Other couriers tend to be prohibitive and although we do use them sometimes, we will always try to offer the most economical shipping fee to our customers, through Royal Mail. I can see that you have been in communication with our colleagues who have assured you that the parcel will take a little longer owing to the strike action. I would also like to assure you that should the parcel fail to turn up, or arrive long after the need for which it was intended (if this was to be gifted for example) then we will guarantee to reimburse you and ensure you are not left out of pocket. Please do not be concerned about this and we take full responsibility, because your agreement as a consumer is with us, despite Royal Mail's delays. In the meantime, we are keeping an eye on your parcel as I understand you are too, and we are hopeful it will be with you soon. Please be advised that while parcels are moving through the network, Royal Mail have advised that the majority of tracking numbers will not be updated during the strike action. This is frustrating for both of us but I can assure you that your parcel is on the move. If you are yet to receive your parcel by next week, please reach out to our CS team who will be happy to issue a refund to you. If you have questions for us in the meantime, you're most welcome to reach out and we will respond to you quickly. All the best.

“Lovely diary. Great paper that is thin and crinkly (similar to TRP). Ghosting but my usual Hobonichi pens don’t bleed through. Good amount of space to write and light weekly lines allow flexibility to write over them.”

Hi Rachel Thanks for your feedback. Please do reach out to our customer service team (if you haven't already done so) for any orders which have yet to arrive; I'm certain they'll be able to advise you and let you know the whereabouts of your delivery. Please also bear in mind that Royal Mail is currently striking today (1st December) and will also be striking on Friday 9 December, Sunday 11 December and Wednesday 14 December 2022. This has further contributed to a pre-existing backlog in the Royal Mail pipeline which means orders are arriving later than we'd like them to. Where we can, our warehouse is using other delivery methods so it's worth checking with our CS team about this. We love to hear your feedback about our company and the products you buy from us - it also helps other customers from the stationery community too! When you do receive your order, we'd be grateful for a review about the product . Perhaps you might take a moment to let customers know what you think about the stationery you've purchased. In the meantime, I've asked a team member to reach out to you (ahead of you making contact) with a delivery update. Thank you.

“I have bought from The Journal Shop a few times and always had a good experience. The items I order are always dispatched quickly and arrive in excellent condition. The customer service is outstanding! Had a problem with a recent order not arriving and another was sent out immediately. I can highly recommend The Journal Shop.”

“I am so pleased with my two orders so far. My Hobonichi techo was something I wanted for the longest time now and the one I chose is so pretty. The overall choice of Japanese stationery is amazing. I also bought some sparkling Kirarich highlighters and a Livework pen as well as a page guard for my Hobonichi. Love all of it.”
