“First class service , always extremely polite and informative. I wanted a specific bottle of whiskey for my husband and was sorted straight away . Great local business and yes they may be ever so slightly more expensive than supermarkets but worth every penny !! Thank you once again . Hilary”

“Service from House of Malt and product was very good the extra I paid to be delivered on a specific date less so. I purchased a birthday present for a very old friend whose birthday it was on the Tuesday following the weekend. So I paid an extra delivery charge so he received it on the Monday before his birthday. It was all agreed and paid for. I then got an email from the delivery company to say that they were going to deliver the “ package” on Saturday and not the Monday that I had paid for. I managed to contact my friends wife w( to stop the surprise gift not being ruined and was informed that they would both be away from their house until Sunday and not there for the delivery. They would have of course been back for the original delivery on the Monday. As they had recently moved into the area they did not have any family or friends that could take delivery. After a lot of thinking and trying to contact the delivery company without success on the weekend, I received an email to say they were still delivering the package on the Saturday. After a lot of phone calls backwards and forwards to my friends wife she finally found a near neighbour who would be in at the time of the proposed delivery and would also be there for my friends wife to pick up the package when she got back. In the end the package was delivered to the neighbour and my friend got his present on his birthday. He was delighted with his Malt whisky. My point was I paid extra to have a specific delivery date, for no reason as delivery company decided it didn’t fit in with their plans, if it hadn’t have been for the kind nature and perservirance of my friends wife snd her neighbour the birthday gift would have had to have been picked up from the delivery companies local depot, thus spoiling the gift and the surprise. The service by House of Malt and quality of product was first class, the sub contracted delivery people was very poor. So much so that I would question whether I would use the company again in the future! Since writing above review I have been contacted personally by the House of Malt. They investigated the communication error with their courier snd have apologised and refunded the additional amount I paid for the delivery on a specific day along with an additional refund caiused by the inconvenience. In fairness the speed and sincerity in which they carried out their acknowledgment, investigation and corrective action leads me to believe that the service I received was a one off incident and Has persuaded me to continue to use this company, who I genuinely believe are trying to build a first class product and reputation. After receiving a full explanation of the events from their own investigation, I now fully accept that what happened was a genuine human error by their courier and not the service that House of Malt customers can usually demand or expect, and this was a “ one off unfortunate experience”. I have contacted my friend regarding the product He received for his birthday ( not being aware of the background) and he informs me he is delighted snd would certainly use House of Malt for his own personal needs!”

“Great site for your whisky purchases, dead easy to use from selecting you bottle from the quite extensive range available to finalising the order at checkout. Delivery is as stated, for me it was 2-3 days, I got the confirmation email with tracking number for the order, parcels arrived securely and expertly packed. The points system as a reward scheme is great as is the referal email you can use, get you mates and family to sign up and you get a code worth a fiver for each that do. Had 4 bottles from them since signing up, will be back for more.”
