“I ordered six bottles of wine which were delivered next morning. Carefully and safely packed and cheaper than supermarket. Based on this experience I would definitely use this company again and would recommend them.”

“Order was extremely fast and well packaged and got a free glass. However, all bottles were short dated (same month as shipped). I suppose they are getting rid of old stock or what have you but a bit more notice would have been much appreciated.”

Looking into the details for your order, I can confirm the stock you received was the latest stock that came through the supply chain. The item on your order is no longer in production and it is possible that production runs of the product were much bigger than the sales rate, which can result in shorter dated stock coming through the supply chain. As the product is packed in glass bottles, which is more inert than plastic, this helps preserve the quality of drinks better than plastic type materials and helps keep it fresh for longer. Recent demand for your ordered product has been much greater than expected, with all stocks being final, due to the item no longer being in production. Orders are processed on a first come, first serve basis and it looks like your order was placed in time to be processed with available stock. We hope you enjoy your purchase. “Excellent service all round. My purchase of two bottles of single malt were a lower cost than the high street, even with the delivery. Delivery information was sent by text to keep me informed and the order was well packaged. The website was easy to use and navigate. Overall I would rate them 100%. Well done.”

“For those less popular brands that friends & family have an affinity for then Drinks Direct seem to have an extensive range with very prompt delivery. I was less happy with my ?4 discount for buying a second bottle and then find it is reduced by VAT; so my ?4 becomes ?3.20 - what is that all about! Otherwise I am happy with the products and service.”

Further to the discount issue highlighted, it can be confirmed 4.00 was taken off in respect of the multibuy deal for your ordered products. When you go to the checkout, prices are shown ex. VAT. This also applies to the discount. However this does not affect the total discount provided which is still 4.00. Yes, VAT can be confusing; when you got to the checkout you would have seen the discount value of 3.33, with 0.67 being taken off the VAT part of the product price. This makes a total of 4.00 off.
