“My husband and I participated in the Childcare and Elephant Volunteering program in India. It was a very rewarding experience and we are so grateful that we had the opportunity to be a part of it. Our program involved visiting volunteering at a childcare centre, as well as a bear and elephant sanctuary. It also included excursions over weekends to see the Taj Mahal in Agra, as well as the sights in Jaipur. Throughout the course of the 2 weeks, we were so well taken care off by the Volunteering Solutions staff. Sahil and Namrata were always responsive to emails prior to our trip. We were picked up from the airport on Day 1 by Shankar, who helped us settle into our accommodation and supported us during our time in New Delhi. All the meals provided by Volunteering Solutions at all the volunteer houses were awesome, and allowed us to eat with other volunteers doing different programs. The volunteering experience was humbling. At the childcare centre, we were uplifted with the smiles of the children who were so eager to see us everyday. A word of advice is to bring in some resources for these kids (for e.g. colouring books, exercise books, picture books, etc.) so that they can be used by them. The bear and elephant sanctuary allowed us to see the good work that locals do to help the animals rehabilitate and feel loved, after having been through abusive situations. We also met volunteers from across the world as part of this trip, and it was very refreshing to meet people who were choosing to spend significant amounts of time to give back. Our tour guides and transportation organized by Volunteering Solutions was top-notch. Everything was so well organized, and our amazing guides really made a difference in our experience. I would highly recommend that you try out a program with Volunteering Solutions at least once. I know that we'll be back for more!”

“My time in Arusha, Tanzania has truly been an eye-opening experience. If described in one word, "amazing" is an understatement. From the first day, I fell in love with the culture and environment. I was warmly welcomed by my host family, the Matolos, and felt at home. They treated me as one of their own. I even acquired an international nickname! “Elisa.” Originally, I was supposed to volunteer in the summer; however, due to the pandemic, I rescheduled for the winter holidays instead. That was the best decision ever. The atmosphere during the holidays is very lively, warm, and welcoming. I connected with everyone I encountered, from the house staff, to my coworkers, and fellow volunteers at St. Elizabeth Catholic Hospital. At the hospital, I volunteered in the surgical ward and observed copious procedures. “L’union Fait La Force—Unity Makes Strength” is a traditional Haitian motto found on the emblem of our flag. In a Haitian household, children are taught that mountains can be moved with unity. It was not until my experience in Tanzania that I understood the true meaning of this statement. Although under pressure and lacking medical resources, every person in the operating room, in unity, contributed to the well-being and survival of each patient.”

“I’m Jill from the UK. I volunteered for one week on the Women’s Empowerment project. The students and staff were friendly and immediately made me feel so welcome. The experience has given me an insight into the lives of the students and an opportunity to get to understand their ideas and values. The accommodation, although basic was clean and comfortable. Deepak, our host was kind, understanding and most importantly a very good cook. Rajiv the company director is extremely supportive. He came to pick me up from my hotel on the first day. He delivered a useful orientation session and introduced me to the key staff in the centre. He also visited on my first full and last day of the project. Overall I had a super experience creating long lasting happy memories. Thanks to all involved!!!”

“(Eng Below) ITA-L'esperienza con VolSol in Ghana è stata incredibile. Ho seguito il programma per 4 settimane presso la scuola delle ragazze. Mi sono affezionata tantissimo a loro e molto è stato fatto insieme. Frederick, il buddy, si è preso cura di me in tutto e per tutto. Mi sono trovata benissimo con lui e la sua famiglia (con 4 figli). é importantissimo lo spirito di adattamento, sia per la mancanza di acqua corrente, sia per le condizioni igieniche (diverse dallo standard occidentale), che per la percezione relativa del tempo (in Ghana il tempo non esiste e non ci sono orologi). Ho trascorso un mese straordinario, conosciuto una cultura totalmente diversa dalla mia, conosciuto persone diventate amiche e aiutato tanto le ragazze della scuola (grazie alle donazioni di una raccolta fondi che ho attivato perla scuola). Ho visitato e aiutato anche presso l'orfanotrofio di Tamale (opzionale). Tamale è una città molto semplice, in rapida crescita e con religione islamica prevalente. I ghanesi sono un popolo estremamente gentile, accogliente e amichevole. Consiglio davvero di andare a Tamale a fare volontariato: ce n'è molto bisogno e l'esperienza cambia la vita. Sono tornata in Italia da poco e ho già voglia di ripartire! ENG-The experience with VolSol in Ghana was incredible. I followed the program for 4 weeks at the girls' school. I became very fond of them and a lot was done together. Frederick, the buddy, took care of me in every way. I had a great time with him and his family (with 4 children). The spirit of adaptation is very important, both for the lack of running water, for the hygienic conditions (different from Western standards), and for the relative perception of time (in Ghana time does not exist and there are no clocks). I spent an extraordinary month, got to know a culture that was totally different from mine, met people who became friends and helped the girls at school a lot (thanks to donations from a fundraiser that I set up for the school). Tamale is a very simple, rapidly growing city with a prevalent Islamic religion. Ghanaians are an extremely kind, welcoming and friendly people. I really recommend going to Tamale to volunteer: there is a lot of need and the experience is life-changing. I recently returned to Italy and I already want to go again!”

“Hi, my name is Demyan Kruglov and in August 2022 I spent two unforgettable weeks in Cape Town, South Africa, volunteering with an elementary school through the Sports Development Program. It was all about helping kids with their schoolwork and teaching them sports, but it turned out to be so much more. The best part was seeing the kids’ faces light up during our sports sessions. It wasn’t just about keeping them busy; it was about teaching them important life skills through play. I learned a lot too, like how to be flexible and make the best out of what you have. Volunteering in Cape Town was one of the best experiences of my life. It showed me how powerful sports can be in bringing people together and teaching important lessons. I’d tell any other teenager thinking about volunteering to go for it—you won’t just change others’ lives; you’ll change yours too.”

This year I am going to Portugal and learn about handling food insecurity. “In 2019, i had the opportunity of going to Thailand for the summer programd and volunteering. I can say that was one of the best experiences i've had, introducing myself into this amazing world, helping thailandese students, building a new school and staying at the elephant sanctuary for 4 days was just marvelousss. Im so so glad of all volunteering solutions services, the staff was so gentile and available everytime, the people i met there that still have contact with, all the experience was just epic. If you're thinking or doubting on doing a volunteer program you just should! its gonna make u see life from a different perspective. “Applying the program through here was very simple and flexible as well. The team would come back to me super fast with all the answers, and it was all over easy process inlcuding around visa questions ( these are the annoying part usually!) . Even on arrival, I literally had to just upload my ticket and they were there and it was well organiazed. The hostel that I stayed was mixed of different nationalities, different volunteer jobs, different ages, it was all very well diversed so living ther made the whole experience wonderful as well. Of course working at the orphanage was wonderful and I got to learn about myself that there are so many things that I am capable of but didn't know before! Thank you so much for the great opportunity!”
