The quality of the received signs was very good, however the three delays and correspondence with you was very poor. We were not sure when we would receive the signs you were unaware that we had paid the extra for one of the signs as requested. You need to get your administration sorted

Hi Thank you for leaving a review. I am sorry to hear that you are not entirely satisfied with the service received. I have looked into this and can see that there was a delay due to relocating premises at the time, which was advised on our website. I do apologise for the inconvenience of this. This delay was sadly increased due to needing to upgrade one of the sizes of the sign to accommodate all of the text. As these are hand-crafted signs they are bespoke and can take longer if we deem that the initial layout can not be accommodated, and therefore need to supply mock-ups of alternative layouts. Unfortunately as we do not get automatic notifications of payments being made we do advise customers to notify us upon payment, which I can see we were not advised of. To compensate for the delay we offered to upgrade one of your signs to match the size of the other sign free of charge :) We are glad to hear that you are happy with the very good quality of the signs received and apologise for any inconvenience caused by the delay. We have recently received another sign for our cottage for a back entrance, after commissioning one in May 2018 for the front. We thought that the old sign was lasting well but on closer examination after the new one arrived, we found that the resin is peeling off taking some of the painting with it. Whilst we appreciate that five years is probably a reasonable length of time given the life of some goods you buy today, the signs are expensive (£117) and I would have thought that with a good resin coating, it should have lasted longer. Village Green have offered me a £15 discount on a new sign but in truth I would not have ordered a second sign if I had noticed the wear on the first one. I am posting this review so that others will be aware that these signs are not designed to last long. Such a shame, because I like to buy things made in the UK, which I hope they are.

Hi Thank you for leaving a review. We are sorry to hear that your house sign has deteriorated over time. Although our signs are durable to the elements this does depend on the location and the upkeep of the sign. Any manufacturer issues are covered within our 1 year guarantee due to manufacturing issues being apparent within this time. I would not use Village Green Signs again because they are much too slow to produce the product. Their needs come before the customer's needs. I ordered my sign in December and paid for it in full, and only received it at the end of February. If they cannot do better than that they should employ more staff, or get extra staff over Christmas.

Unexpectedly long lead time Then the sign didn't turn out like the mock up when it was manufactured Then they reformatted the sign Then the same long lead time to get the new version manufactured More than 3 months from start to finish for a resin sign, I do not recommend this company

As our signs are hand made from scratch, unfortunately it shows there was a slight issue along the way which had delayed the progress of your order, and a partial refund was given for this inconvenience. Despite having now received 2 emails asking for a review, I still find it difficult to do so, as I have not yet received my order. I’m sure it will be nothing short of wonderful when it does arrive however!

The sign was EXCELLENT! They are really nice, however, the wait??? Well that was a different thing, ordered November 6th arrived 14 February nearly four months, so, so slow a few emails were sent and the only responce was when I asked for the money back...... Great sign, poor service.

We are glad that you are happy with your sign and that you think it is excellent! :) I am sorry that you feel that the delivery time was too long, we are a small family run company and we do advise on our website banners and at checkout of our production time which is approximately 11 weeks. I can see that w delivered your sign a week late so I do apolgoise for the small delay and any inconvenience this may have caused. In regards to the customer service experience, I have looked into this and can see that one email was sent from you on the 29th of December, where a response was made on the 30th of December. Hi Heidi Thank you for leaving a review. We are glad that you are happy with the sign purchased :) However, I am sorry to see that you are unhappy with the delivery time. As we are a small family-run business and the sign that you purchased was a custom hand-made sign to order, it has to go through multiple production stages including templating, casting, painting, and weatherproofing before it is quality control checked. This means that the standard production time is 8 weeks but we do advise on our website of a 1-2 week delay at the moment. All of our delivery times are stated at checkout and across our website banner to advise customers prior to placing an order with us, so we are surprised to hear that this delivery time was unexpected. Our customer's satisfaction is very important to us so I apologise for the delay in dispatching your order but do hope that the quality and uniqueness of the sign far outweigh this. After waiting 10 weeks for our new sign I was disappointed to see a spelling error in the house name. Whilst the sign is now being remade it there was no method of expediting the production and delivery of the new sign. This error will have left me waiting nearly half a year for my order.

Hi Ben, I am sorry that there was a spelling mistake on the sign! This should have been picked up upon quality control so I apologise for this! I completely understand how disappointed you must be, but I can confirm that your order is being treated as a high-priority order. Our standard delivery is 8-10 weeks as stated on the website, but we aim to turn our replacements around within 6 weeks as mentioned to you via email. It took 10 weeks for my house sign to arrive - and that was only after I contacted them to find out how much longer I would need to wait for it. I could only email them as there was no answer on their landline. There was no direct reply to my query until after they'd arranged for the sign to be delivered by next day courier and they knew it had been delivered. Sign was fine when it arrived - but invoice showed that it should have been shipped weeks previously.

Your communication and tacking system were unhelpful in the extreme and quite frustrating. Any attempts to make contact was blocked by yourselves and your tracking system was disabled. in addition product delivery was delayed.

The sign was too brittle, came with no fitting instructions and snapped on screwing onto wall.

Pleased when it eventually arrived but lead time and customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I appreciate the challenges of COVID but also feel that 4 week turnaround is too long and should be stated at point of order + confirmation email and NOT just on the home page of the website. The tracking feature never updated so I didn't know its progress and customer service either never responded or took 1 week plus so I was in the dark! I needed it as a gift for someone so if you're in the same boat I would go elsewhere to somebody with a more reliable and accurate delivery timeline. Never got any form of apology when reply did eventually come to my requests for update.

It arrived and it was broken in the post not enough packaging the slate corner was completely smashed off lettering was good but disappointed in the fack it was damaged and can't be used

Hi Ian, we are ever so sorry to hear that your sign arrived damaged. Unfortunately, casualties do happen sometimes despite how well we may wrap them. Especially as slate is such a brittle material. I can also see that you were fully refunded at your request. We can, again, only apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Easy to place order and pay .......no communication on Despatch or Delivery, had to email and chase dign arrived day after complaint!!! How odd mmmm!
