“I am not one to write reviews but thought I just in this context. I ordered 3 candles a few weeks back. I was very impressed with the way it was delivered and it looked very professional. I have only burnt the ‘smoked leather’ candle so far so, again, can only speak about this. The scent isn’t strong whatsoever. I am not sure if this is meant to be the case but I would expect to smell the candle when walking into a room after being lit for a while. Hope this review has been helpful. Cheers.”

“Careful when ordering to EU countries. Not only do they charge 30€(!) of shipping, but you will also be charged for custom fees, in my case another 35€ (!). The website has some basic information about it, but as a customer I would've expected some more straight forward communication. Customer service was not helpful as well.”

“Honestly I am not impressed about the perfume Smoked Leather that I have bought..... A washed clone of Tuscan Leather with a more pronounce smell of the berries present in TF scent and on top of that it does not stay for to long on me.... Not worthy the 50£ for 50ml..... First and last time I buy from here. Sorry! 👎”

We are sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with your experience with Smoked Leather. All our fragrances are created from our founder’s scent memories and are original bespoke compositions. Our fragrances are eau de parfum strength and depending on skin type should have lasting power that sits between an eau de toilette and a perfume.

“Bought a tomato vine/leaf candle which didn't smell like tomato vine at all. And I can't return it because the packaging is open. So I have an expensive candle, that doesn't smell good, in my house. Not impressed.”

“I had really high hopes for the reed diffuser given the price but although the scent is nice it doesn’t seem to diffuse very well. It’s only in a small bathroom and I can’t smell it all unless I get right up to it and smell it. I won’t be purchasing another and feel a little cheated for the price”

“Items arrived quickly and well packaged. Scent was strong prior to lighting. None of the three tea lights or votive candle had any scent when lit. I wish I had bought all tea lights instead of taking a chance on a larger candle for one scent. Used in small office to ensure room size was not factor in lack of scent. Very disappointed.”

“After querying my option for a replacement for the previous fragrance I had, Arboretum, prior to rebranding, I was advised that Red Cedar was the new name and same smell. I’m afraid it’s not quite the same thing, although somewhat similar, and definitely does not create the ambiance the previous one did. So I’m a bit disappointed. It just seems much much thinner and “watered down”. That’s the issue with ordering online a supposed substitute. I’ll have to try something or somewhere else next time.”

Hi Pascal, Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that you're disappointed with your purchase. I can confirm that once the 'Arboretum' fragrance was discontinued in the Urban Olfactory brand the exact same fragrance specification and inclusion levels were moved into Urban Apothecary. The only difference was the vessel material with the Urban Olfactory product originally in tin and then this moved to glass In Urban Apothecary.
