When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“Just taken out my 5th or 6th policy with True Traveller. Always use them for my high altitude expeditions as there are varying heights they'll cover for. And they'll cover my pre-existing medical conditions. So far (touch wood) I've never had to make a claim”

“I will always book with True Traveller from now on. I always took out travel insurance as a last minute thing. It'll never happen to me! Last year I was unfortunate enough to tear my stomach whilst in Nepal and suffer from internal bleeding. Ended up being pretty serious stuff and required 8 blood transfusions, helicopter evacuation and a week in intensive care. Without True Traveller I'd most likely have snuffed it. They organised and dealt with everything. They spoke to the hospitals directly, I didn't have to pay anything even though my claim started in a ghetto travel clinic in rural Nepal. It was such a relief, they organised transport to a superb facility in Kathmandu where I received first class treatment. They organised a room in the hospital so my partner could stay nearby, a beautiful hotel for a few days when I got out of hospital and business class flights home for both of us. Incredible. Oh, and it was the cheapest insurance option I found! + super flexible with specific sports/activities. I was high altitude trekking with specific peaks included. And I'm currently doing a ski season in Japan With the snowsports package at a very reasonable price. I know it's only insurance but I can't recommend truetraveller enough to friends and family. So important to feel covered when you're really in trouble. Great service by phone and email by friendly, understanding and caring staff too, nothing was ever too much to ask. 100% recommend”

They answered immediately and clarified all my questions. Working in customer service myself I appreciate good customer service and True Traveller did not disappoint.”

“True Traveller was able to provide cover when other companies weren’t. We needed to take out cover whilst we were already travelling outside the Uk. Most insurers simply will not cover this (most require you to be travelling to and from the Uk). We also found they cover a more extensive range of activities as standard, or via cost effective ‘add-ons’, than other companies. This company seems much better geared up for serious travellers, or unusual trips, than other providers. With True Traveller we did not face a constant ‘computer says no’ response, which we did with several other more well known companies. The telephone advisers/sales assistants were all extremely helpful, and very knowledgable about the terms of their policies, add ons etc and the website was quite user friendly too. This review relates only to the coverage offered and ease of taking out a policy. I have not had to (and hopefully will not have to!) make a claim, so cannot speak for the claims service.”

“Trustable, serious company, offering a great service and the best options for any kind of trip at an affordable price! (cheaper than others). I bought already their policies 3 times; they contacted me after my claims and they refunded my medical expenses in a very short time. They also cover your trip if you are already traveling, only few companies do that but they are cheaper! Totally recommended!”
