When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“My first experience of True Traveller was 2 years ago when I embarked on my 2 year working experience in Vancouver. The site was very clear, and although not the cheapest, it was by far the most transparent, comprehensive, and fair cover. During the two years, I had occasion to make a claim only once and the process was easy, efficient and the reimbursement arrived promptly, which is important when you're living hand to mouth! More importantly was the fact that I had peace of mind that a friendly voice and helpful agent was at the end of the phone or email should I need them, and that I was covered for all eventualities. I have only just bought another 90 days cover, as I intend to remain in Canada to spend my hard earned cash before returning to the UK and stupidly, I missed the deadline to extend my cover and save 10%, even after I had a reminder from them! So be sure to look and respond to their emails. I can not recommend True Traveller enough as they are fuss free and eager to support you.”

“I've only just bought it, so I can't comment on the claims process, or tested the coverage yet, but I was very pleased with the way you can build up exactly what you want. I wanted to focus on emergency medical cover for my son's ice hockey in the USA, and didn't want it bumped up for cover for lost baggage or delay. Total flexibility over the period and awkward medical history. Very clearly states that Covid medical is not covered in risky countries, but a broken arm will be, even in a risky country, which the policy he had last year refused.”

“So far we have not had to make a claim (touch wood!) so cannot pass judgement on that side of things but the purchasing process was super easy. I found the chat function to be really useful as I had some questions about existing medical conditions but the representative I spoke with was professional and friendly and answered all my queries with no trouble. I found the price to be better value than any of the other companies I looked at and thought that paying a touch extra for zero excess was a good deal. Hopefully I never have to make a claim but if I do, I have heard that true traveller are good at looking after you then too.”

“I have just renewed my true traveller insurance as I have been so impressed with them. I made one claim for Health costs during my travels in Cambodia and the process was so easy and straight forward. I feel very assured knowing that I am insured through true traveller.”

“Very happy, used TT to renew my travel insurance on the same terms but for a shorter period and got a 10% discount. They sent a reminder email close to my expiry date and it only took a few clicks to renew - got my new paperwork immediately. Haven't had to make a claim yet (hopefully never!), but have heard really good things from people who have. Would recommend.”
