When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“Userfriendly website and after all they always had the best value for money. I've claimed just ones yet and only oroblem so far is that you have to call them and number is British so not so convenient and little bit pricy when you are travelling.”

“I got insurance through True Traveller for my Canadian IEC. I had heard many positive reviews about True Traveller and I found the interface of their website very easy to understand and navigate. The whole procedure was straight-forward and was completed in a very short amount of time! In the end, the insurance for two individuals turned out to be very well priced and I would recommend this company to everybody who is travelling.”

“I really like how the policies are clearly laid out and explained in 'normal person' terms, which makes them easy to understand and you feel like there is honesty and transparency from the start. I think this is essential when choosing an insurance, especially when travelling!”

“I've had True Traveller insurance for the past three years with single-trip year long policies. Their pricing is fair and the packages are easy to understand. I add on packages for riding motorbikes, scuba diving, sailing and other activities. I've never had to make a claim (and I'd like to keep it that way) - but I've read many reviews about TrueTraveller being great in times of emergency, which is why I keep renewing. It's peace of mind for serious medical issues. I have spoken with their support team on a few occasions to ensure my policy works for my needs & they have always been very educated and helpful. The only thing I'd say is - if you're using TT as a full-time traveller, don't bother with the add-ons for travel delays etc. They're pretty much useless if you're doing continuous travel. I think the same applies to most travel insurance these days - if you're delayed, you usually have to take it up with the airline and hope for the best.”

“It is easy to buy and has good policy options. The live chat works well, but only during the UK working hours. If you are in a different time zone, you probably have to send an e-mail. Luckily so far, my trips have gone well, so I can't say anything about getting your money back for something.”

“I've got insurance with these guys on 3 various trips...needed to claim once and they didn't give me issues at all...for one of them...didnt even have the hospital receipt as i lost it but had the bank statement showing the payment...and they still refunded me the fee so im very grateful for that! :)”

“Very well designed website makes the whole process more inviting for young users, clear terms and options from the user interface design. It could be improved by giving more options for the area of travel section. Maybe you should be able to choose specific countries aswell as different areas.”

“As one of the few travel insurance companies to offer up to 2 year of cover (necessary for your IEC visa), I found their prices to be fair when compared with other companies offering similar cover. I found the process of getting cover easy and straight forward and finding information regarding individual sections of the cover was readily and easily available. Although the addition of baggage cover came at a steeper cost then anticipated, it is a necessary evil for peace of mind if anything were to happen to our valuables. The travel resumption add on is also a great addition which other insurers seem not to provide. All in all I would definitely recommend True Traveller and I hope that, if needs be (hopefully not), making any claims on the policy will be as simple as setting it up.”

“The purchasing experience I had with True Traveller was one of the most straight forwards insurance bookings I’ve ever seen. They are upfront and transparent about the cost and coverage and it was easy to customise my insurance to cover what I needed. I haven’t yet needed to make a claim but have had very positive feedback about the claims process from fellow travellers.if I do, I’ll be back to update my review!”
