When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“True Traveller has been amazing. Their platform is very intuitive and super easy to use. I ran into some issue because of my temporary location when trying to sign up and their support fixed it in no time. I had to extend my policy, and it was super easy, informative, and very quick process. If you're looking for a travel insurance that goes above and beyond, I can warmly recommend True Traveller!”

“During a recent trip to Nepal I received a email from my Flights provide (Qatar Airways) telling me that my return flights were cancelled (12th) and that the next flight could offer was the 18th!!! This obviously left me with no option but to seek a refund as they would offer no alternative options. The new flights that I managed to source were a few days later and cost significantly more. I incurred extra expenes not only for flights but also hotels, meals, additional car parking charges on return. I was extremely stressed and out of pocket as Qatar told me up to 28 working days to refund money for flights they cancelled. I was not in a good mood and dreading have to argue with my insurer to recover the costs. I shouldn't have worried, True Traveler were Fantastic in dealing with the case, took about a week to settle after I uploaded my flight information and receipts, No Arguments or stresses at all. I have used True Traveler for 4-5 Hiking Trips and can confirm that I will be using them again and would highly recommend their service to others and advise you always check that 'Travel Disruption' section in the options. 5 Star Service... “We were ill in india and were admitted to hospital for 9 hours and puf on drips. Obxd put we filed a claim and were assigned a person to our claim. The money was in our account wirhin 4 days. No arguing. Very impressed with the service. First class”

“I usually have no problems with completing extensions of travel insurance. But this time it left off one of the health conditions I'd typed in and I was left wondering if it didn't need to be recorded or if it was a mistake, but the system wouldn't let me go back to put it in - it just blocked the addition of any conditions, so I had to leave it as it was, which was frustrating”

“I've used True Traveller since 2019 and they have been fabulous. I travel constantly and whenever I've need to claim, it always been simple, easy and I get refunded within a couple of weeks maximum. I recently took out a new policy and put the wrong home country, they were able to explain what was wrong, cancel it and made sure I got a refund. I was able to speak to Customer Service through Whatsapp- so easy! As a prolific traveller I would really recommend them as they are one of the only insurance companies that allow 'already traveling' and do not require a return ticket to your home country for it to be valid.”

“Extending my policy for 25 extra days every with 10% discount was 25% of the original 5.5 month policy was outrageous! For my next extended trip I will be looking for another insurer”

Hi In common with all types of insurance, the longer the contract is, the lower the daily rate becomes. We do state this on the website. TT are one of the very few insurers who allow extension policies; most do not. True Traveller

“I’ve used true traveller twice now. Once when I went travelling for 12 months around Australia, Thailand, Bali and Vietnam. And an up coming ski holiday for a week in January 2025. My experience with true traveller has been excellent. I did make a claim during my time travelling and I got quick and professional response. My claim was dealt with very quickly considering I had to sort out the information whilst travelling. Will definetly use true traveller for many of my adventures.”
