“The tie was far too long. It looked like a tie worn by Donald Trump hanging six inches or so below the waist belt. It was worn for a special occasion but is going to a charity shop forthwith.”

Hi James Sorry to hear of the issue with your tie. The item is a standard length, 147cm from tip to tip. This is the same length as virtually all our standard ties and for someone within a normal range of height the tie should not have hung six inches below the waist. “Delivery is great. Product .. not so much. I ordered 2 sets - a bright orange tie and a bright yellow tie etc. the photos were so bright they were amazing! I was very disappointed when the product arrived as it was absolutely nothing like the photo. This happened twice! For both orders ( I ordered separately due to colour disappointment).”

We wondered if these ties were purchased from another shop as we can only find one order placed by yourself with us, which was for a burnt orange colour, which is meant to be a dark orange. We do stock both bright orange and bright yellow shades, which are very bright indeed, which is why we wonder if the ties you mention are from elsewhere. Particularly in the case of our bright yellow, it is pretty much as bright as it is possible to be. If it helps at all, we do offer a free colour swatch service where we can send colour swatches of fabrics so you can see the shades in person before ordering. Kind regards Andrew Bragg Ties Planet

The courier says they attempted delivery on the correct day but there was no answer. Had we heard of the problem on the day we would have ensure we acted on the same day to try to get the parcel to you on schedule or as quickly as possible otherwise. “I ordered several times for my upcoming wedding a while back, wedding was postponed due to covid, so the wedding party changed slightly. I needed another tie, so logged in to my account, clicked past orders and reordered the same tie which it linked to, called exactly the same aswell ... Well the new tie arrived a totally different colour to the past ones. I messaged them and I was told that I must have ordered the incorrect tie... Which was not the case at all, the only difference was the normal tie was out of stock so I ordered skinny ... But it was for my son (the kids tie I previously ordered looked daft on him but skinny would of been perfect!) I have proof of this also and sent it across and they've just not responded. Luckily I've managed to re-buy the exact tie I required of Amazon for cheaper and free delivery.”

“Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the service of the shop. I bought a tie, the quality of with is perfect I have to admit and I really like it. Still, as I live in Spain, I had to pay 7 pounds as the costs of a delivery, which thing I understand and accept. However, when the product has been already delivered to me, the post office told me that I had to pay 8 euros more for the delivery, which means I had to pay twice for the same thing and it cost me more than a tie itself. While contacting with the consultant from the shop, he/she informed me that every country had its policy of delivery and this didn't depend on them, the thing which seems hard to believe for me as I buy products from different countries (also outside EU) and such a situation happens to me for the first time. I believe that a shop should clearly inform about it in the process of a purchase from abroad. Apart from it, once again, my negative opinion refers to the payment and information itself, not a product. About the latter one, I have nothing negative to say, on the contrary it is of a very good quality and I can recommend it.”

Hi Ewa Thank you for your order and for taking the time to leave a review. Firstly, we are pleased you are happy with the quality of the tie you ordered. With regards the extra charge you had to pay, unfortunately this is beyond our control. This payment is a customs charge. As we are outside the EU, we do not charge you VAT tax and then you pay the customs deemed applicable within your country. Whilst we understand this may be frustrating, I can assure you we get no benefit from it whatsoever. There was an EU VAT reform on 1st July, which means the exemption for goods under EUR 22 has now been removed. We really do appreciate your order with us but feel a one star review for our service is unfair given the circumstances of the VAT reform, which affects everyone not just our business. Hi Matt We did ask you to take a look at this privately but feel that we do need to reply to your comments given the potentially negative impact they could have. The product ordered was not advertised as silk, it is clearly described as 100% polyester. The tie you ordered is one that we have been selling virtually since we started our business in 2006. We would never seek to mislead anyone and think a poor review of this item is undeserved. Obviously we always want customers to be completely happy and take any constructive comments on board but in this case don't think we have done anything wrong. In fact we don't think you would get a better tie anywhere else for £7.99 with free delivery. “Ordered some plain yellow socks for my husband but after the first wash they are both unraveling from the top. They were cheap and I would have happily paid more but they were the only plain ones that I could find. Given two stars as they arrived very quickly.”

“Ordered a tie for a wedding. when the tie came it did not match what I saw online i had ordered a grey tie with klavender in it. I received a lavender tie with grey in it. When I looked at returns process I realised it would cost me money to return it similar to cost of tie so I didn't bother”

“I purchased two pairs of men's socks size 6-11 ( musical novelty) One is perfect in size the other pair more like the size of a ladies sock , two actual different sizes but labled the same . Disappointed”
