“I just completed the Level 5 TEFL Course (168 hrs) with the TEFL Academy. The course was very well structured with interesting and fun interactive lessons. I found the 3 assignments challenging at times. However I learned a lot by doing them. In particular lesson planning and utilising various teaching techniques, which are all covered in the course. The practical weekend training was great. It allows you to experience a TEFL classroom in action and connect with other students. The added support and resources upon completion of the course is a major plus! I already have a great feeling of accomplishment and excited about future prospects teaching abroad. I would highly recommend this course to anybody looking to become a TEFL teacher.”

“I have just completed the Level 5 TEFL Course (168 hrs). I would definitely recommend it. The skills learned have really helped improve the quality of my lessons (I teach online). The feedback and support from the tutors was very thorough and professional. The admin support team was always quick to provide a solution to any problems that I had.”

“I studied the TEFL 168hr course which included 148 hours online and 20 in person. I found the course really helpful and informative, it made me confident to begin teaching and learning. The course in person was good as it covered the content of the online course and was interactive which helped me gain some experience with teaching.”

“This was my first time studying online. The Level 5 TEFL course(168hrs.) was a wonderful and fulfilling experience. The evaluations at the end of each unit were encouraging and recycled what you have learned. The three projects were creative , encouraged research and gave a sense of accomplishment upon completion. I loved the course.”

“After completing the Level 5 TEFL Course (168 hrs) through the TEFL Academy, I was very impressed with the course as a whole. It offers lots of information, structured in an interesting and easy to follow way, but does still require lots of thinking and work from the student. There are real world applicable assignments which involve creating lesson plans that could be used in a classroom and helps prepare you for the working environment. The feedback given was very beneficial for me, and information I will take into account when preparing lesson plans on the job. A couple times the online program seemed to not work correctly, resulting in me needing to send in a "ticket" to have it fixed, thus setting me back a day or so in my completion schedule, plus the marks took a fair bit longer than the estimated 5 business days to be returned, but you could normally continue working through the course while waiting for the feedback. For these reasons I have given the course a 4 out of 5 overall and would (and have) recommended this program to others interested in the industry. -Chris”

“I just completed the Level 5 (168 hour) TEFL course. It was an amazing journey and rewarding experience. The units are very comprehensive and easy to follow. The practice tests keep you on track and test your knowledge before proceeding to the next unit. The assignments were challenging and reinforced what I had learned. The trainers provided excellent feedback on each of the assignments. I am well prepared to apply the knowledge and skills obtained in creating exciting and engaging classes for my students!”

“The Level 5 TEFL 168 hour combined online course is professionally structured and I would highly recommend it if you are considering teaching English abroad. The support was excellent and the online content covered areas in depth and the assignments are challenging, yet stretch you to learn and i feel more confident now about preparing lesson plans and activities for all levels.”

“It's a viable possibility to achieve your TEFL certificate even if you are working full time. The course begins with an intensive 2 day "on-site" meeting with an experienced trainer. For me it was in Berlin where I also had the chance to meet my fellow students. This is very motivating and will hold you through the coming months as you work through the online program from home at your own pace. The course itself is very well written and offers plenty of examples and short tests. The "teacher" Claudia was a very likeable character. Also the TEFL Academy provides many links to interesting topics on teaching English so that there was plenty of additional material to learn from. The assignments (3 main projects that included everything learned in the last 3 -4 chapters were challenging and very time consuming, but this is because TEFL Academy wants to ensure that their students really understand the principles and methods presented. The feedback from my evaluator was always kind although I was encouraged to redo some of the activities in order to reach the objectives of the assignment. I am now putting many of these methods to use. I have become a free-lance ESL instructor and teach Business English to adults in different companies. And yes, many of the ideas I learned for teaching children can very well be applied to my adult learners who enjoy playing some language games and competing in teams. If I had any technical or administrative queries, their helpdesk replied in a very timely manner. All in all an excellent experience and absolutely worth the small investment. Thanks to all at the TEFL Academy.”

“This is a very well structured course. I really enjoyed learning with the TEFL academy. The modules are very insightful and interesting. Each module nicely flow into the next. The 3 assignments really test your ability of lesson planning. The fact that the assignments are marked with feedback gave me a clear indication of where my strengths and weaknesses lie. The assignments can be challenging but i found the 20hours of practical teaching (weekend sessions) really helpful as it enabled me to put learning into context and gave me first-hand experience of tefl teaching. I highly recommed purchasing the weekend combined session alongside the online course. The online aspect of the course is enables you to work independently and work at your own pace. The support team provided direct and clear guidence when needed and they were also very quick to reply.”
