“I am 63 years old, so it is a long time since I was at school and being taught English, I now live in Vietnam and my Vietnamese neighbours asked me to teach their children English, this prompted me to enrol for the 120 hour online course. As an older learner returning to education I was happy to find the TEFL Academy Modular System, with downloadable interactive workbooks, made my learning experience straightforward, enjoyable and occasionally challenging, which helped stimulated my learning experience”

“I recently completed the online Level 5 TEFL Course (168 hours). It was realistic in terms of time commitment and the way the modules were structured meant I could work through it at my own pace. I could go back to areas that I found challenging to increase my understanding in them. Some aspects of the course came more naturally which meant I could build confidence and it wasn't the same the whole way through. The activities in the modules were different and fun. It was good to check what i'd learnt as I went along and to get immediate feedback about my learning. It was also interesting to look at some of the extra reading and resources provided in each module. All the tasks were clearly structured and the assignment instructions gave lots of detail and resources to help complete them.”

“The TEFL course has definitely been a good foundation for teaching. I took this course as a precursor to undertaking the CELTA and I think it is definitely worthwhile given the cost difference between the two courses. The course provided a lot of information on the fundamentals of teaching English for TEFL purposes. The online modules were easy to navigate and informative and the quizzes that you need to pass to get to the next module help to solidify what you have learnt and to ensure that you are actually absorbing the information that you are given. The 2 day workshop over a weekend was intense but the facilitator was great - she was highly experienced and personable. It allowed for some practice of the skills you learnt in the online module. I would highly recommend doing this course with TEFL Academy for anyone seeking to begin a career in TEFL.”

“I completed the Level 5 TEFL Course (168 hrs) at TheTEFLAcademy.com. It was convenient and fun to go through the different sections, and by the end I feel like I learned a lot about teaching English. I am not used to their grading system for the assignments and it seems kind of arbitrary at times, but overall it's a good course and I do recommend it if you need TEFL certification.”

“I was surprised about the TEFL Academy's online course, in a good way. I had initially thought that this course would be boring and that I would probably not learn much since it is online but that was not the case. The courses and materials were relevant and the class room experience was actually really fun. I initially thought that the classes were going to be very long and boring but it went by so fast because our teacher made the class so much fun. She made me realize that this is the kind of teacher that I wanted to be. Make the class fun, happy, and the time really passed by. I even made new friends. The end of course exams, even though some were tricky, were very effective and very relevant to the course material. The end of course assessments took time and effort to do but I have to admit even though I was frustrated at times with the assignments, it really makes you learn how to teach and think about how you would want to do your classes. I highly recommend this online course, not only because it is convenient but the class experience is also very fun.”

“I completed the 168-hour combined TEFL course with the TEFL Academy. I found that the course did an excellent job of teaching me how to complete lesson plans and teach the more technical aspects of English, such as grammar. It also was helpful in that it imparted a great deal of information about classroom management and what kind of work teaching involved. The feedback, end of unit tests and assignments also did an excellent job of reinforcing learning throughout the course.”

“Very informative and engaging practical element of the course. The online element is challenging, but satisfying and enjoyable. It's surprising how much comes back to you from school and how confusing the English language actually is! Overall I'm very happy with the course, it's something outside of my comfort zone and the confidence it has given me is amazing. One completed you're given plenty of information on CV's, cover letters and job advertisements which is really handy. I wasn't sure what to expect when I enrolled but it's safe to say it's exceeded what I could have imagined. Thank you so much!”

“There were many reasons why I took this course and at the beginning I was a bit apprehensive, however as soon as I got into it, the whole experience was amazing. Tefl was great and I really enjoyed/loved the end of course assignments. Don't get me wrong, I was so nervous doing them however now that I have finished and passed, as sad as it sounds I miss having them to do in the evenings!”

“Firstly, I liked the online aspect. It allowed me to be flexible, especially since I work full-time. Also, the platform and content was smooth and streamlined. This allowed me to follow the content easily. I enjoyed having the workbooks to use and the module tests. They helped me to gauge my understanding and progress as I went. The final assessments where also relevant and empowering as they helped me to practice for the real world. I would recommend this course for anyone looking for a well-crafted, educational, and empowering course in teaching English to foreign students! (PS They also help you to find and apply for a job!)”

“The Level 5 TEFL Course (168 hrs) had the perfect structure for what I needed as a brand new teacher. The content of the online portion introduced me to all the most important teaching concepts and allowed me to move at my own pace. The assignments tested what I had learned in planning lessons and were sufficiently challenging. The in-person training provided me an opportunity to try things out and the trainer gave me helpful feedback. I would recommend this course.”
