“I thoroughly enjoyed completing the course and building on my knowledge of teaching English. Creating the assessments was enjoyable and the course information was accessible too. However, I would say that the assessments take up a lot more time and effort than I initially anticipated, and I ended up having to pay to extend the course for a month.”

“Taking the TEFL level 5 online course was a great decision, I could log in to my dashboard at any time that I want, that gave me the opportunity to study at my own pace, the materials on the course were fun and interesting most of the time, the assignments were kind of challenging but entertaining and useful. I recommend the course for people that likes to study at their own pace and time.”

“I set out from day one, positive about doing a TEFL Course (even though I chose the 168 hours) well within the six months. Unfortunately I got very ill and for most of October last year I was unable to work on the course. After almost a six weeks’ absence, I basically started all over again, and this is when my stress levels went through the roof as I couldn’t always find what I was wanting to review before moving on (considering much of this terminology is specific to TEFL and new to me). I could not remember all the information straight away - HAD TO REVISE often) and had to wade through pages to find the right place. So if there is a criticism from my side, it has to do with the platform not being user friendly enough. I had to always go back to a specific unit and part, searching and opening lots of pages before finding what I was looking for. Busy students (and working against the six months’ clock) need keyword access to aid revision and ease of study. I also stressed to get through the work to reach the first assignment. Again, more transparency right at the start would’ve been useful. If I knew what I was getting for an assignment, I could’ve searched and kept material which would’ve been useful for the assignment throughout - e.g. images - which would’ve been a great timesaver. Also, one’s mind will start the process of collecting and processing specific information - storing it for an assignment - well in advance, which imo keeps the mind calm for full action once the required material for a specific assignment has been covered. As far as feedback from lecturers is concerned, I found their comments fair and helpful, and done well within the eight days suggested for a return of an assignment. - (student Margaretha Botha nee Menichini)”

“My personal experience with the TEFL course was great, I learnt and revised pretty useful information. I particularly like the number of games and exercises the programme provides. I am also grateful for the help I received from the tutors every time I reached them; they were not only polite and helpful, but also quick to write back. The website is easy to use, so I don't waste any time trying to understand it; I just went through it without any problem. The assignments were challenging, which I believe is a strong point of the course itself.”

“TEFL has been a great course to take part in. All the units were explained clearly and tested my teaching knowledge well. It has been well worth the money and I believe I will use this qualification throughout all aspects of life. The end of topic tests were beneficial as they really tested my knowledge on the subject.”

“I did the Level 5 TEFL online. The website was easy to use, it was all organized. For each topic, it provided resources that are very useful. It also explained various games and fun activities according to different English levels. It included how to teach pronunciation, yet it requires one to search for more information on it. The test after each unit is easy to understand and includes the information learned on the unit. The assignments are complex and their instructions are somehow difficult to understand. It is important to read the instruction a couple of times and to pay attention to details. The assignments require dedication and effort. They are graded very carefully and the feedback is detailed.”

“I took the level 5 TEFL course at the TEFL Academy and I learned quite a bit. The help center is pretty timely in their responses and the course was very thorough and detailed and offers extra resources througgout that you can use on your own. The only thing I would have liked added to this course is more video media.. I feel ready for the next step which would just be practicing now!”

“I recently completed the level 5 TEFL course. A professional course with complete content. The course was very well structured. Easy to follow and understand. “I took the TEFL Level 5 course over the course of the last 6 months. I found the workload manageable on top of a full time job. I liked the way they focussed on what was really important to know and provided links to additional resources. Most of all I was impressed by the detailed and balanced feedback from the examiners - clearly experts in their field.”
