“Good location, clean beds, and fluffy white towels. The cottage, driveway and car park/courtyard area are in need of some maintenance. Guests are requested to leave the place as they find it, but there is no hoover, no cleaning cloths or materials provided to allow this. The people in the adjoining cottage brought their own hoover! The cottage was nicely furnished some years ago, but is now in need of some TLC, for example the fan in the downstairs bathroom does not work. The welcome pack was very good.”
“Very pleasant, well-equipped apartment, centrally situated in Ambleside. We enjoyed our stay.
Perhaps ought to specify 31 steps up to Idle Mill 2, we are over 80 and carrying our luggage up was a bit of a struggle.
There were also a few issues where style seemed more important than comfort:
*The sofa was smart but not particularly comfortable.
*The dressing table in larger bedroom had no reachable socket for hairdryer.
*Why is clothing rail in smaller bedroom at height of 7 to 8 feet, unreachable by my friend?”
“The lodge was not very clean especially the kitchen area, and the bushes outside were overgrown and overhanging the decking, a bit disappointing overall”
“We stayed in the farmhouse as a group of 4 adults, 6 children and 2 dogs, and overall had a lovely stay. The six-bedroom, three-storey property gave us plenty of space to spread out, and we never felt cramped despite being a large group. The farmhouse was clean, the beds were comfortable, and there were high chairs available for younger children. The outdoor dining area was great for family meals, the views were beautiful, and the information provided before arrival was clear and helpful.
A few things stopped it being a five-star stay for us. The hot tub had a slightly musty smell, and given that the property is spread over three floors, we were surprised there were no stair gates available for families with younger children. The wooden cot also felt a little unstable and could do with being checked. There were a few areas around the farmhouse that would benefit from some maintenance and updating.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and the property worked well for our large family group. The location and space were excellent, and with a few improvements it would easily be a five-star experience.”

The hosts were very welcoming and were on hand if needed. The accommodation has everything to make it a comfortable time. The hot tub was so relaxing. In the 4 days we stayed,we saw so much wildlife, pheasants, hares,deers,a stork,herons,birds of prey. Our stay finished with a display of the Red Arrows in training!”
“The house was in a perfect location and spotlessly clean, however we arrived to a leak on the floor in the sitting room. This was reported to Sykes who sent someone around with a pile of towels to mop up the wet patch and unfortunately these had to stay put on the floor for the rest of our stay which proved quite inconvenient. The TV wasn't connected to the WiFi so we were unable to use the smart TV which was a shame as we spent one evening in with plans to watch a film. All in all it was an enjoyable stay in a beautiful well equipped house in a perfect location. The balcony is also an added bonus.”

The place was up for sale. We were not informed. 7 times we were disturbed by prospective buyers and the neighbour was extremely rude.
The instruction book is out of date and we felt imprisoned not free to enjoy our holiday.
Struggled to find customer services number to complain as we feel we should be reimbursed.
