“We have used Sykes multiple times and have always had good service. The cottages are realistically advertised with clear photos and facilities. I had cause to use customer services recently and found the agent to be efficient, professional and resolved my query perfectly.”
“The house was perfectly located for a 4-5 minute easy stroll into the town and similarly in the other direction to a small shopping outlet.. Didn't appreciate however that it was on a main road which could have meant a lot of traffic noise if it was a summer break, luckily for us it was a cold wet February so we had windows closed. Inside the property was dirty on the floors and in the corners behind furniture etc. Would have been happy to run the hoover around but there was absolutely zero cleaning equipment bar a dustpan and brush. Beds were comfortable and property was spacious with a lively garden for the summer months.”

“A return visit to Rocksite which was wonderful as always. Such a cosy property with truly stunning wildlife and views. The weather was pretty shocking, but with a property like Rocksite it really doesn't matter as there is non stop action on the bird feeders from a multitude of birds, red squirrels, and regular visits from the fallow deer.

“Dennis Spicer and wife michelle had the priviledge of being guests once again at the DRIFTWOOD holiday accomodation withernsea,an absolutely wonderful property,vast ground space inside for someone disabled and also a bedroom downstairs and shower room downstairs and also a vanoty wc upstairs,facilities are plentiful so much to say home from home ,DRIFTWOOD a special place in our hearts,nothing at all negative about the accomodation ,the owners and work team work really hard to satisfy yoor souls.100 yards down toe road to the ocean and 100 yards to Tesco,an absoluetly wonderful place to stay and be at,regards Dennis Spicer wife Michelle and the rest of the family,”
“We found the cottage was a lot more isolated than expected in both directions access was via very long badly rutted lanes
Needless to say eating out was a challenge.
The cottage was very nice but unfortunately the on suite shower was electric hence not hot enough and very little pressure.
The bath again was ok but lack of enough hot water.
There was a dvd player but this was not connected to the TV and the cables on site could not be used.
We still had an enjoyable time but it could have been a lot better.
We won't mention the weather because that was rubbish everywhere.”
“We stayed at Amolca apartment in Anglesey. The apartment was beautiful and the views were fabulous. Very tranquil and perfect for a restful few days away from hustle and bustle. First time we have used Sykes Cottages, but won't be the last.”
“Cottage is ideal location and less than a 10 min walk to lake and all facilities. Very well equipped kitchen with plenty of utensils and good quality cookware. We had a problem with the heating when we arrived but after a call to the owner the lady who manages the house came out on the evening and quickly sorted the problem. These things happen but it's the way they are dealt with that matters so no issues there as they couldn't of been more helpful.
We had a lovely 2 weeks even though the weather was not good but it was February and its the Lake District!!
Having 2 downstairs bedrooms and a bathroom was great. The only feedback I would give is that some of the furnishings in bedrooms were old and tvs in bedroom are very small and old. An upgrade on these would make a big difference, however this did not change our enjoyment and would book again. As I said the owner was great which makes a difference.”
